Our festival is dedicated to showcasing the work of filmmakers who have transformed their unique concepts into reality, overcoming challenges in independent film production.

Our carefully curated selection represents a diverse and exciting mix of genres, styles, and perspectives, highlighting the cutting-edge and exceptional offerings of independent cinema.

The festival features virtual screenings with an in-person awards ceremony at the iconic Dolby® Theatre in New York City on October 25th, 2024. This event provides networking opportunities for filmmakers to establish connections and gain valuable industry insights.

Awards & Prizes

The Pitch to Screen® Awards is a prestigious event that celebrates independent filmmakers by providing them with a platform to showcase their films. The awards honor excellence in various categories, including Narrative Feature Films, Narrative Short Films, and outstanding achievements in Directing, Acting, Cinematography, Editing, and Music Composition.

The Pitch to Screen® Awards is designed to spotlight exceptional independent filmmaking through a meticulously crafted process.

1. Peer Review Selection:
Submissions will be evaluated by a diverse panel of industry experts to ensure they meet festival qualification criteria. Selected films will be chosen based on the highest ratings.

2. Audience Voting:
Selected films will be showcased for audience viewing and nomination. Winners will be determined by the highest votes in each category.

3. Awards Ceremony:
The Pitch to Screen® Awards is a glamorous event, bringing together filmmakers and industry professionals to honor cinematic excellence, build connections, promote collaboration, and celebrate the art of cinema.

Filmmakers whose films are officially selected will enjoy several benefits:
• Virtual screenings of their work, with 50% revenue shared with the filmmaker.
• Promotion through the festival's social media channels
• Full-year access to our membership, offering various benefits.
• Access to filmmaking tools provided by our sponsors
• Access to the festival's virtual catalog
• An invitation to attend the in-person awards ceremony (review our rules & terms)

Films that are not selected but meet our qualification criteria receive an honorable mention and access to filmmaking resources and the festival's virtual catalog.

The Pitch to Screen® Awards holds significant industry recognition, as it is an IMDb-qualifying festival. In previous years, the awards ceremony has been held at prestigious venues such as the American Film Institute Silver and Film at Lincoln Center in New York City.

Rules & Terms

Please carefully review the following rules and terms:

1. Film Eligibility and Submission Authorization:
• Ensure you have the necessary distribution rights and authorization to submit your film for evaluation and potential screening.
• Please verify that your submitted film meets the eligibility criteria outlined for this festival.
• Once a submission is accepted and under consideration, it cannot be withdrawn.

2. Press Materials and Screening Requirements:
If your film is accepted, it will be your responsibility to provide the following:
• A Press Kit
• Production Stills, Movie Stills, and Posters
• Trailer and Movie Clips
• A high-quality digital copy of your film for virtual screening purposes.

3. While our festival supports a variety of video formats, we recommend conforming to the following specifications:
• File Specs: 1920 x 1080p, H.264 @ 10 Mbps, <10 GB.
• File Type: .mp4/.mov only (No DCPs or ProRes).
• Audio: Stereo AAC (No 5.1 surround).
• Captions: .SRT/.VTT files.

4. Elevator Pitch Submission Guidelines:
• Ensure high-quality video and audio (between 30 seconds and 2 minutes in duration) with a well-lit medium shot of yourself against a solid background, addressing the camera directly (Find an example on our YouTube channel).
• All pitch submissions must be original, and all rights must be owned by the writer.

5. Attendance and Statuette Options at Awards Ceremony:
• Upon selection of your submission, you will receive an invitation to the 2024 Pitch to Screen Awards Ceremony in New York City. Please note that travel costs will not be covered.
• Winners are invited to take photos with the statuettes at the ceremony and have the option to purchase each for $350, including name engraving, tax, and mailing. Delivery may take up to 8 weeks. Additional international shipping fees may apply.

6. Terms, Conditions, and Specifications:
• The competition is open to both national and international entries.
• Entries must have been completed after January 1, 2023.
• Non-English films must include English subtitles.
• Only finished films will be considered; works-in-progress will not be accepted.
• Films previously showcased at other festivals are eligible, and premieres are strongly encouraged.

7. Promotional Use Authorization and Screening Logistics:
• By submitting your film, you grant the festival permission to use trailers, movie clips, and production stills for promotional purposes.
• If your film is chosen for the festival lineup, it will be securely screened on our virtual platform for audience viewing and voting. We share 50% of the profits generated from screening your film or elevator pitch submission. Please note that revenue sharing is currently only available in the U.S., Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, and Australia. Filmmakers residing in other regions can designate a representative to collect their share.

8. Compliance and Legal Responsibilities:
• You acknowledge understanding and acceptance of all festival regulations and prerequisites.
• You confirm ownership of the submission and certify that it does not infringe upon any copyright, privacy rights, publicity rights, or similar rights.
• You agree to hold the Pitch to Screen Festival harmless from any claims or damages related to your submission.
