  • A Quarter Finalist first time around. Many thanks to all those involved at the International Indie Film & Screenplay Festival.

  • This festival seems more like a business than a platform for discovering talent. What is especially frustrating is that it takes nearly six months, only to announce that the final results will be released at the end of the year. The selection timeline and each judging round should have been clearly explained when submissions opened. Instead, the process is extremely vague and gives the impression that the festival simply wants to keep attracting more submissions. It is also questionable that entrants can receive finalist status merely by registering to attend the festival.

This festival was confusing: I received a notification of being a semifinalist and that I would advance to finalist by expressing interest in tickets to a gala being held in Norway in December: "To secure your seat(s), please click this link to complete the attendance form. Once submitted, your judging status will be updated within a few days to โ€˜Finalistโ€™, which is essentially the same as โ€˜Nominee/Quarter-Finalistโ€™ but helps us track in-person attendance." Having quarter-finalist, semi-finalist, and finalist all mean the same thing made me wonder about legitimacy of their honors. I give them a one-star rating to call attention to being able to 'buy' finalist status.

I deeply appreciate this festival, the organizers, and judges. The Gala in Graz this past December was wonderful. Such an honor that my screenplay, Exchange, was awarded Best Character Development. And for this upcoming Gala, that my screenplay, Clearlake, has been nominated is a tremendous honor. Thank you.

I was very happy that "Welcome to the Parallel World" was nominated.

Did this film miss out on the award?
Was it screened at the film festival?
I would like to know the results.

    Thank you very much.
