Español: CONVOCATORIA PARA CORTOMETRAJES (ESPAÑOL)
El Festival Internacional de Cine de Orizaba, en su segunda edición, invita a directores de cortometrajes, tanto mexicanos como extranjeros, a presentar sus obras cinematográficas en cualquiera de las tres categorías de este año:
• Ficción
• Documental
• Animación
El tema es abierto.
Duración máxima de 15 minutos, incluyendo créditos iniciales y finales. Filmada con cualquier tipo de cámara y formato, ya sea analógico o digital.
En el caso de la animación, se acepta cualquier formato que se ajuste a la definición de la categoría de animación.
La obra debe haberse producido entre 2020 y 2023.
• La inscripción es gratuita, y cada productor, director o compañía de producción puede presentar tantas obras como desee, siempre y cuando cumplan con las pautas de esta convocatoria.
• La inscripción se realiza exclusivamente a través del formulario de registro en línea, disponible aquí.
• Junto con este formulario, se debe incluir obligatoriamente un enlace de visualización en línea. FICO solo acepta enlaces de Vimeo, YouTube o plataformas de visualización en línea similares. El archivo será visible solo para los miembros del comité de selección. Si es seleccionado, el comité organizador se pondrá en contacto con el remitente para proporcionar instrucciones sobre la entrega del archivo en alta resolución para su proyección, que debe estar en formato mp4 (códec H24).
• Si el idioma original de la obra no es el español, debe incluir subtítulos en español e inglés para su exhibición nacional e internacional, y si es seleccionado, estos deben entregarse en formato .srt.
• Si el idioma original es español, se acepta el subtitulado en una lengua indígena. Si es seleccionado, considere proporcionar una copia con subtítulos en español e inglés, ya que formará parte de la Gira Internacional.
• Las obras presentadas no deben promover, celebrar o respaldar discursos de odio, violencia de género, pornografía o cualquier forma de discriminación. También deben abstenerse de hacer promociones para ningún partido político, institución o empresa privada.
• Se excluyen de esta convocatoria los proyectos en los que los miembros clave del equipo (director, productor, guionista y actores principales) formen parte del equipo organizador del Festival. Además, no pueden competir proyectos o actividades relacionados con las funciones de instituciones públicas municipales, estatales o federales ni ninguna representación de las mismas, empleados y propietarios de los socios comerciales o patrocinadores del Festival.
• Los creadores deben poseer los derechos sobre el material presentado en el momento de la inscripción, incluyendo el guión, el talento, el sonido, la música, la fotografía, el video y los gráficos. El Festival se reserva el derecho de exigir pruebas de autoría si es necesario.
• El equipo de programación de FICO realizará la selección final de las obras que participarán en el Festival. Solo se notificará por correo electrónico a los cortometrajes seleccionados. La decisión del equipo de programación es definitiva.
• FICO anunciará la lista final de películas que formarán parte de la Selección Oficial a partir del 25 de octubre de 2023. Esta lista también se publicará en el sitio web oficial del Festival.
• Esta convocatoria estará abierta desde su publicación en el sitio web oficial de FICO y las redes sociales hasta las 11:59 PM (Hora de la Ciudad de México, CDMX) del 5 de octubre de 2023.
Premios:
• Un ganador por categoría
• $5,000 MXN (Sí el ganador es extranjero el monto se otorgará en dólares el equivalente a 5,000 pesos mexicanos)
• Exhibición en espacios internacionales (FICO NO paga tarifas de exhibición)
• Paquete de regalos de patrocinadores
Cualquier circunstancia imprevista no contemplada en esta convocatoria será resuelta por el Comité Organizador, y la decisión será definitiva.
La presentación de uno o más cortometrajes al festival implica que el participante acepta los términos de esta convocatoria.

Rules & Terms
The International Film Festival of Orizaba, in its second edition, invites short film directors, both Mexican and foreign, to submit their cinematic works in any of the three categories for this year:
• Fiction
• Documentary
• Animation
1. The theme is open.
2. Maximum duration of 15 minutes, including opening and closing credits. Filmed with any type of camera and format, whether analog or digital.
3. In the case of animation, any format that adheres to the definition of the animation category is accepted.
4. The work must be produced between 2020 and 2023.
• Registration is free, and each producer, director, or production company can submit as many entries as they wish, as long as they adhere to the guidelines of this call.
• Registration is exclusively done through the online registration form, available here
• Along with this form, a mandatory online viewing link must be included. FICO only accepts links from Vimeo, YouTube, or similar online viewing platforms. The file will be visible only to the selection committee members. If selected, the organizing committee will contact the submitter to provide instructions for delivering the full-resolution file for projection, which must be in mp4 format (H24 codec),
• If the original language of the work is not Spanish, it must include subtitles in Spanish and English for its national and international exhibition., and if selected, these must be delivered in .srt format.
• If the original language is Spanish, subtitling in an indigenous language is welcome. If selected, consider providing a copy with Spanish and English subtitles, as it will be part of the International Tour.
• Submitted works must not promote, celebrate, or endorse hate speech, gender violence, pornography, or any form of discrimination. They should also refrain from making endorsements for any political party, institution, or private company.
• Projects in which key team members (director, producer, screenwriter, and lead actors) are part of the Festival's organizing team are excluded from this call. Additionally, projects or activities related to the functions of municipal, state, or federal public institutions or any representation thereof, employees, and owners of the Festival's commercial partners or sponsors cannot compete.
• The creators must hold the rights to the material submitted at the time of registration, including the script, talent, sound, music, photography, video, and graphics. The Festival reserves the right to demand proof of authorship if necessary.
• The FICO programming team will make the final selection of the works that will participate in the Festival. Only selected short films will be notified via email. The decision of the programming team is final.
• FICO will announce the final list of films that will be part of the Official Selection starting from October 25, 2023. This list will also be published on the official Festival website.
• This call for submissions will remain open from its publication on the official FICO website and social media channels until 11:59 PM (Mexico City Time, CDMX) on October 5, 2023.
Awards:
• One winner per category
• $5,000 MXN (If the winner is a foreigner, the amount will be awarded in dollars equivalent to 5,000 Mexican pesos)
• Exhibition in international spaces (FICO DOES NOT pay exhibition fees)
• Gift package from sponsors
Any unforeseen circumstances not covered in this call will be resolved by the Organizing Committee, and the decision will be final.
The submission of one or more short films to the festival implies that the participant accepts the terms of this call.
