"A look that blooms in the desert"
Our headquarters will be Ciudad Insurgentes, Baja California Sur. The name of its inhabitants is Tobeños, alluding to the name of the first colony that gave rise to this city: La Colonia, Ensign Fernando de la Toba. This festival pays tribute to the settlers who founded this agricultural valley in the 1950s. To those women and men who with their families managed to make the desert bloom, in his memory, this humble festival is dedicated.
As children and grandchildren of those settlers, we now intend to "burn the desert" by presenting the different visions of the world in other latitudes. Bringing to these undequal lands a small seed of art and culture, and like our ancestors, we wish with all our being that they flourish. The appointment is from September 30th to October 4th as soon as night falls for the projector to turn on.
The FIC DeLa Toba is part of the activities to be carried out during the celebrations of the 50 anniversary of the founding of CBTA 27. In this second edition Canada joins us as our guest country, as well as Colombia, who was our last edition guest. This festival is not for profit, its purpose is to disseminate the vision of all possible latitudes in short film formats, for the enjoyment of the face-to-face audience and as a modest contribution to the emancipation of culture and art.

“Una mirada que florece en el desierto”
Nuestra sede es en Ciudad Insurgentes, Baja California Sur. El gentilicio de sus pobladores es Tobeños, haciendo alusión al nombre de la primera colonia que dio origen a esta ciudad: La Colonia, Alférez Fernando de la Toba. Este festival hace un homenaje a los colonos que fundaron este valle agrícola en la década de los 50´s. A esas mujeres y hombres que con sus familias lograron hacer florecer el desierto, a su memoria, está dedicado este humilde festival.
Como hijos y nietos de esos colonos, ahora pretendemos “incendiar el desierto” presentando las distintas visiones que se tienen del mundo en otras latitudes. Trayendo a estas yermas tierras una pequeña semilla de arte y cultura. Al igual que nuestros antepasados, deseamos con todo nuestro ser que esta pequeña semilla de arte y cultura, florezcan para deleite de la Toba entera. La cita es del 30 de septiembre al 4 de octubre en cuanto caiga la noche para que se encienda el proyector.
El FIC DeLa Toba, forma parte de las actividades a realizar durante los festejos del 50 aniversario de fundación del CBTA 27. En esta segunda edición nos acompaña como país invitado Canadá y Guatemala quien fuera nuestro primer invitado, repite su participación este año. Este festival no persigue fines de lucro, su propósito es difundir la visión de todas las latitudes posibles en los formatos de cortometraje, para el disfrute de la audiencia presencial y como una modesta aportación a la emancipación de la cultura y el arte.
A) To all those selected, corresponding laurel by official selection.
B) The winners, in the international and national competition, will be made creditors to the prize, certificate and laurel. The FIC DeLa Toba as part of the award ceremony undertakes to send the winners the prize and the corresponding certificate, at no cost to them, as long as they provide us with a postal address where to send it.
C) The Award will be awarded: Oscar Tapia Olvera, to the best Production Design. This award will be unique and will be given to the short film that, in the opinion of the committee, will determine. All registered short films participate in this category.

a) A todos los seleccionados, laurel correspondiente por selección oficial.
b) Los ganadores, en la competencia internacional y nacional se harán acreedores a la presea, certificado y laurel. El FIC DeLa Toba como parte de la premiación se compromete a enviar a los ganadores la presea y el certificado correspondiente, sin costo alguno para ellos, siempre y cuando nos proporcionen un domicilio postal a donde hacerlo llegar.
c) Se otorgará la Presea: Oscar Tapia Olvera, al mejor Diseño de producción. Dicha presea será única y se entregará al cortometraje que, a juicio del comité, determine. En esta categoría participan todos los cortometrajes inscritos.
