TOZEUR INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL is the first international festival at the gateway to the desert in Tunisia that celebrates the ART and Industry of the film on the lands where the greatest films of the cinema were shot. TOIFF is a place of creativity, discovery and inspiration. Listening to professionals, artists but also a public with a particular view. We open the doors of this desert to unusual screenings of unusual, different, independent, magical films ... We are looking for stories from elsewhere, your stories for screenings in the middle of the Oasis, in the middle of the desert, in the midst of world-famous films such as Star Wars, Jesus of Nazareth, The English Patient .... We also open debates around workshops, Masterclass and round tables. We are building links through Networking and the Film Market.
This first edition of the TOIFF is innovative in its choice of films, its parallel activities its guest list and especially its audience.
We will also bring together film veterans and the new generation

The competition
We have three categories of films in compe
titions between short and feature films as well as
docs.
For this purpose we will organize the competition sections as follows:
1. A competitive section reserved for feature films, fictions produced in 2017

2018.
2. A competitive section reserved for short
films, fiction produced in 2017

2018.
3. A competitive section reserved for feature and short films, documentaries produced in 2017

2018.
The selected films represent a great international choice: Tunisia, France, Morocco, USA,
Norway, Algeria, Palestine,
Lebanon, Italy, Greece, Spain, Egypt ...
The selection of films is always open. The deadline for submission of films in Competition has
been set for 04 November 2018.
Each category will be awarded the following trophies: THE PALM OF GOLD, SILVER or BRONZE
Feature Films and DOCS
CRITERIA
Feature films submitted for selection must meet the following criteria:
• Have been made during the twelve months preceding the Festival.
• Not to have been exploited in Tunisia.
• Not to have been shown at another film ev
ent in Tunisia.
• Not to have been broadcast on the Internet or to be released on DVD.
• The festival does not accept school films, amateur fil
ms, and end

course projects.
DURATION OF MOVIES
To be selectable a feature must have a duration greater than
60 minutes.
Films with a duration of less than 15 minutes can be shown at the Short Film Selection.
DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION AND RECEIPT
The registration deadline is 05 November2018 (it is imperative that on this date, the
registration form has been compl
eted and validated).
One of the media proposed for selection must reach the Festival no later than November 12,
2018
SUPPORT
Whatever the medium used for shooting the film (mini DV, super 8, 35mm, ...), only the following
media are accepted for the prese
lection:
• Digital Cinema Package (DCP): JPEG 2000 server (Doremi DCP 2K4 model) Only reads JPEG

The film should only be sent once and on one medium.
N.B .: It is possible to present a working copy of the film. By completing the registration form you

n or a working version. The presentation of a
working copy does not allow the subsequent presentation of a definitive copy.

The Selection Committee will be able to watch a film:

transport, and possible customs duties and taxes. In the opposite case, the Festival grants itself
the right to refuse the parcel.

You will be notified before the official press conference, which takes place around mid

You will need to project the film in DCP (Digital
Cinema Package) with a JPEG 2000 file.
The Movies Department will give you all the information in a timely manner only if your movie is
selected.
Short Films and DOCS
CRITERIA
Short films submitted for selection must meet the following criteria:
• have
been made during the twelve months preceding the Festival
• not to have been exploited in Tunisia
• have not been broadcast on the Internet
• the duration of the films must not exceed 25 minutes, including credits.
DURATION OF MOVIES
• To be selectable i
n Competition a short film must have a duration greater than 25 minutes
(generic included).
• The Festival does not accept films longer than 25 minutes.

• The deadline for registration is 05 November 2018 (it is imperative that

How to download your movie online?
We accept most types of source files. If your movie file is on your computer, it is very likely that
you can download
it quickly and easily.

Preparation of the film
Make sure your movie does not have color bars or black bars before or after the movie ends.
Also make sure
your movie is not interlaced (ie with horizontal lines streaking the image,
especially noticeable during sequences with fast motion).
