IMDb qualifier’s Sweet Democracy Film Awards is an international monthly event dedicated to those filmmakers that when they want to make their own movie don’t know the word Impossible.
The festival is inspired by a task that seemed impossible to everyone, except for those who then made it, to shoot a film with the only actor and playwright who ever won a Nobel prize, Dario Fo.
A dream turned into reality thanks to the collaboration of Donald Ranvaud, producer of the movie "City of God" directed by Fernando Meirelles and nominated for 4 Academy Awards, but also thanks to the persistence of a team of young cinephiles. The result has been "Sweet Democracy" an independent movie that became mainstream, screened at New York University, selected in several prestigious festivals and positively reviewed by the international press.
Sweet Democracy Film Awards now aims to discover the creativity and the originality of new Indie filmmakers and to give them the visibility they deserve.
And in addition, we are willing to listen to your idea and try to help you to make your movie.
Looking forward to meet you!
