This will be Wild Rover Film Festival's 4th festival in 2026.

Wild Rover Film Festival is for the wanderer. Whether you're wandering around this world, another world, in the present, the future, or the past. Wherever you choose to wander, tell a story about it.

Wild Rover Film Festival was created by Theodoric Wells, a SAG-AFTRA actor & graduate of Tisch, School of the Arts, for the purpose of providing a platform for filmmakers from all around the world to showcase their films. Wild Rover Film Festival will take place in Tampa, Florida at Wild Rover Brewing Company. All screenings will be held in The Brewery, which seats 125 people with a 120" projector & a cinema-grade sound system.

Food & drink will be available for a full dinner theater experience. Networking happy hours will create an atmosphere for local & global filmmakers to connect over a pint of craft beer, or fresh Fish & Chips. Specifically, we will be hosting "Afternoon Teas" on each day where filmmakers & fans will get to chat over a cuppa and some scones. Each evening will be accompanied by a filmmaker Q&A & an awards ceremony.

Wild Rover Film Festival is accepting submissions for short & feature length films of any & all genres. There will be specialty categories for short & feature length Mockumentary films, British Film, & Veteran Film.

Best Feature Film
Best Short Film
Best International Film
Best Mockumentary
Best Documentary
Best Director

Wild Rover Film Festival will award one filmmaker "The Wild Rover."

This year, Wild Rover Film Festival will award re-direct all submission fees to Light Inside Cinema; a veteran-led nonprofit, built on the belief that powerful storytelling can change lives—both for businesses and for the veterans they employ. Light Inside Cinema is made up of experienced filmmakers who have served in the military.

Our goal is to work with Light Inside Cinema and raise enough money to...

A) Film 1 Commercial for a Veteran-owned business to premiere at WRFF 2026

B) Film 1 Short Film, using an ex-military cast & crew, to premiere at WRFF 2026.

In the past, we supported Troop Rewards, Operation Encore, Operation Song, Operation Code Vet, & VETPAW.

  • Thanks to the Wild Rover FF Team for screening Burning The Old Man at your festival this year! We were bummed that we couldn't be there to participate; the communication and follow through of this team was terrific. We look forward to submitting our next film for consideration!

  • I wasn’t able to attend the Wild Rover Film Festival in Tampa, but winning Best Feature Film there truly means the world to me. Even from afar, I felt the passion and support this festival brings to independent filmmakers. Thank you, Wild Rover, for honoring Trail Mix—I’m deeply grateful.

A wonderful, quaint festival that was extremely well put together in a fun and unique way! We had the opportunity to network and go into deep conversation with film industry professionals, not to mention the exceptional food provided. A big shoutout to Theodoric for putting this together, bravo!

Such a quaint yet immensely thoughtful festival! The quality of films and projects chosen rivaled the roster of many of the large independent film festivals. I was so honored to have been a part of it and Theo is such an informed, communicative and helpful moderator and chairman. I encourage any young filmmaker to submit and attend!
