*WHAT IS SHORT ANIMATION*
An independent short animation is defined as a film created in a frame by frame process that is financed and produced independently with a running time of 10 minutes or less (including titles). At least 75% of the film must be created in a frame by frame process.
*SUBMITTING FILMS*
AniMaz Spot Animation Feedback Festival accepts only short animations submitted through FilmFreeway.
*FEEDBACK*
Every submitted animation receives a compiled feedback assembled from each of the industry professionals judging the animation's category.
*FESTIVAL TIMETABLE*
Each yearly festival cycle consists of 3 feedback and judging quarters of approximately 4 months. First and second place winners of the 3 quarters will advance to the final competition, feedback and festival.
*ELIGIBILITY*
AniMaz Spot Animation Feedback Festival accepts all animations without regards to the completion date but animation with a distribution deal in place are excluded from the festival competition portion. We accept films that are posted open on the internet. If your animation is in a language other than English you need to supply sub titles, an SRT file or a time coded dialog list in English.
*COPYRIGHT*
Filmmaker retains all rights. Filmmaker grants AniMaz Spot Animation Feedback Festival a non-exclusive limited license to share your film with our judges and display your film at our festival, use your likeness and other submitted promotional materials. Up to 10% of your film can be used for festival promotion. We will never post your film on the internet. Securing releases and licenses for any copyrighted materials used in a film is the sole responsibility of the filmmaker. We assume no responsibility. We well critique all the films but a film that has obviously violated copyright can not be advanced to the final round of competition.
*COLLEGE STUDENTS*
College Students pay a reduced price for the festival. They still need to supply proof of student status. (PROOFS: copies of dated student I.D., class schedule, or proof of age).
*K-12 STUDENTS*
Free student submission is only for high school, junior high school, elementary school or younger students. COLLEGE STUDENTS MUST PAY THE REDUCED COLLEGE STUDENT PRICE. The student filmmaker must prove status as a school or of home school student. (PROOFS: copies of dated student I.D., class schedule, or proof of age).
AWARDS SHIPPING NOTICE:
Unfortunately, due to the high cost of international postage the festival will only be able to cover U.S. Domestic postage costs. The difference in cost between U.S. and international postage is the responsible of the winners.
