Liverpool Short Film Festival is a festival that was launched in 2018 to showcase and celebrate the outstanding film work that has been created by emerging filmmakers both in and out of the city of Liverpool.

There are two submissions categories within the festival (Best Short Film and Best Local Short) and a handful of selected finalists will be screened at the festival and judged by industry professionals.

2. Submission Format
Films must be submitted via FilmFreeway ONLY.
We do not accept subsequent cuts or more complete versions of submitted films, therefore changing or updating the originally submitted link is not accepted.

3. Submission Eligibility
- Must be an English language film or contain English Subtitles.
- Films must be under 15 minutes in length.

4. Film Content
All genre's welcome but please be advised all content must be approved by the venue hosting the festival.

5. Submission Fee
All submissions for The Liverpool Short Film Festival are to be paid through FilmFreeway platform. The submission fee is non-refundable.

6. Selection of Films
Submissions are reviewed and selected under the following criteria:
- Quality of narrative and production values.
- Independent nature of the production.

7. Notification
Successful submissions will receive an email with information on attending the festival. Please note that no travel or accommodation is provided for those travelling to the festival.

8. Festival Screenings
An MP4 or MOV file must be provided before a date TBC (prior to the festival). Failure to do so will lead to the removal of the film from the festival.

9. Scheduling
Screenings are scheduled at the discretion of Branchwork Media; no film may be withdrawn from the festival programme after its selection. Films will be screened in no particular order.

10. Festival Awards
There will one winner for each category presented on the night; Best Short Film and Best Local Film.

Judge’s decision is final.
