  • Wonderful festival put on by people that truly love film, filmmakers and audience. I was lucky enough to have my film The Uniform selected for the March '26 festival and though I was unable to attend in person, the communication was excellent throughout and the slate of films that they put together was truly inspired.
Will definitely apply with future films and will definitely be there in person next time ... Thanks to all at LIA!

  • We are very honoured to receive the award for Best Horror Film at the 2026 Liverpool Indie Awards! This festival happens in a great location in one of the funnest neighbourhoods I've ever been in my life, and it's run by some fantastic people. I had a great time in Liverpool and recommend going to anyone else who's nominated! I came from Canada, and it was worth it!

What a dandy festival. I am so sorry I had to cancel my flight from Australia, but I didn’t want to run the risk of an anti-aircraft gun taking a potshot at the plane. Heartfelt thanks to the jury for voting Hellgate the best feature script. Validation is the lifeblood of artists. X

    April 2026
    Response from festival:

    Congratulations on your win!

We are absolutely thrilled that Hellgate took home Best Feature Script this season. While we were truly sorry you couldn't make the long journey from Australia—and we certainly understand prioritizing safety in these times—please know your presence was felt through your writing.

You hit the nail on the head: validation is the lifeblood of this craft, and our jury was deeply impressed by the strength of your script. We are honored to provide that "seal of quality" for your work.

Thank you for being part of the festival, and we hope the skies are clearer for your next project!
