1. General Eligibility
Submissions must be web series or digital episodic content designed for online distribution.
Projects from all countries and languages are welcome. Non-English entries must include English subtitles.
All submissions must have been produced after January 1, 2023 to be eligible.
There are no restrictions on genre, theme, or format, but the content must comply with legal and ethical guidelines.
2. Submission Guidelines
Entries must be submitted via the official festival platform or through approved submission services.
A minimum of two (2) completed episodes is required for consideration.
Episode length must not exceed 52 minutes per episode.
Submission fees are non-refundable and must be paid at the time of entry.
The festival reserves the right to disqualify incomplete or incorrectly formatted submissions.
3. Selection Process
All entries are reviewed by an independent jury composed of industry professionals.
Official selections will be notified via email and announced publicly on the festival’s website and social media.
Selected projects may be screened in full or in part during the festival.
4. Screening & Participation
If selected, participants must provide high-quality screening files in the required format.
The festival may use short clips or trailers from selected works for promotional purposes.
5. Awards & Recognition
The festival recognizes excellence in web series production with various awards, including: Best Pilot. Best Animation, Best Comedy, Best Drama, Best Dramedy, Best Family, Best Fantasy, Best Horror, Best Science Fiction, Best Documentary & Reality, Best Short Film, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Sound Design, Best Composing, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress
The jury reserves the right to withhold or modify categories based on submissions.
6. Code of Conduct
The Vancouver Web Fest promotes inclusivity, diversity, and respectful interactions.
Any form of harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior will result in disqualification and potential removal from the event.
By submitting, participants agree to abide by festival rules and acknowledge that decisions made by the jury and festival organizers are final.
7. Rights & Permissions
By submitting, the entrant confirms they hold all necessary rights to the content.
The festival is granted limited rights to screen the submitted work and use excerpts for promotional purposes.
Vancouver Web Fest does not claim ownership of any submitted content.
8. Changes & Disclaimers
Festival dates, venues, and programming are subject to change at the discretion of the organizers.
The festival is not responsible for technical issues, lost submissions, or other unforeseen circumstances.
