Founded in 2017, IOU is a film festival by emerging filmmakers, for emerging filmmakers. This one-night celebration of Manitoban film showcases scripted, documentary, experimental and animated short films and music videos, without the added pressure of awards.

Our goal is to provide an environment where a wide range of unique voices can show off their hard work and meet like-minded peers while enjoying films from some of Manitoba's best and brightest.

Awards & Prizes

IOU Video Fest does not offer any awards or prizes; it is a simply a showcase for excellence in emerging film.

Rules & Terms

- Must be currently living in Manitoba
- Must be Director/Creator of submission
- Submission must be 30 minutes or under
- We accept scripted, documentary films, experimental and animated short films, as well as music videos. If you're not sure if your project fits into any of the categories mentioned above, please contact us directly
- We DO accept films that have previously had a public screening or are available online
- We do NOT accept films that have been previously screened at IOU Video Fest; however, re-submissions of films that were not screened at last year's festival are eligible
