ENGLISH:
The lack of diverse talent is a problem that the film industry has been ignoring for years. It wasn’t until recent events that the industry has been forced to face these issues in the public eye. From gender pay gaps, to diverse talent being snubbed at award shows, artists are finally being heard. And, the industry is ready to listen.

Beyond just joining in on the conversation, Carmesí House wants to be part of the solution. We believe there are a lot of writers out there with great stories about diversity, writers from different backgrounds whose cultures and experiences can contribute to bringing new stories to the screen. So, this 2016, Carmesí House is proud to announce the launch of its 1st International Screenwriting Contest for Diverse Voices: THE CARMESÍ.

The contest is divided into two categories. English & Spanish. Yes, we believe there’s a huge latino & hispanic community with great stories the world needs to hear.

This was a great little festival, though I wasn't able to attend anything in person. All my emails and questions were answered promptly and politely, everyone was genial, and the social media side of things was good though I would have liked a bit more push. All of my interactions with the team were kind, warm, and a bit like talking to pals who really respect and encourage you. Bravi, Team Carmesi.
