Submit your bike-themed short film to the fourth annual Bicycle Shorts Film Festival, coming next fall to Yellow Bicycle Theater in the heart of Philadelphia.

Last year's festival was bigger than ever, with three 90-minute blocks of bike-themed films from across the globe. Highlights included a Spanish documentary about a paralympic cyclist, a stop-motion romance between bikes, and a gritty drama set in Philly’s BMX wheelie culture. The festival took place in September as part of Philly's world-class Fringe Festival and was shortlisted for a Fringie Award.

This year we're building on the same format, with three blocks of screenings at 2, 4 and 6 pm on Sunday, September 13. We look forward to seeing you there!

Rules & Terms

RULES FOR FILM SUBMISSIONS

1) All films must have a runtime of 40 minutes or less, including credits.

2) The submitter retains all rights to the film.

3) All fees are non-refundable.

4) All films must include English subtitles (unless the spoken language is English).

5) YBC does not offer criticism on submissions.

6) All films must have a clear connection to bicycles.

    This is one of the best community oriented festivals i've been too. Fun environment with a variety of film styles. Very appropriate place for my film to be shown. Great vibe. I feel it's going to get bigger.

    Josh and Thoeger do an excellent job communicating in the lead-up, and were able to address accessibility needs that came up as well. The presentation of films was top-notch, especially for a festival that is only just getting started. We were honored to take home the Audience Award for our film "Bike Short!"
