Our Social and Political Awareness Film Award recognizes thought-provoking work that shed light and raise awareness, inspiring positive change. By delving into topics such as human rights, inequality, discrimination, and environmental sustainability, these movies challenge societal norms and encourage viewers to engage in meaningful conversations. This award honours filmmakers who fearlessly tackle important issues and use their craft to ignite social consciousness.

Last year we introduced our LBGTQ+ Award! After 2 successful screenings with Inishowen Pride, we wanted to specifically recognise the contribution of filmmakers who amplify the voices and experiences of the LGBTQ+ community. By addressing themes like acceptance, love, equality, and self-discovery, these films contribute to a more inclusive and understanding society. • A wonderful well run festival by Michael and his team, set in breathtaking Ballyliffin. It was fantastic to win Best International Short with my film WAKE-thank you so much for this! Highly recommend Disappear Here FF, lovely meeting some exceptionally talented filmmakers and the curation of films and docs on offer was of a really high standard. Thanks and hopefully see you next year!

Great festival in a beautiful location. Ballyliffin hotel looked after us really well, rooms are lovely and the food was good. Michael was a pleasure to work with, good communication from the team and as a film maker made us feel part of the whole experience. Thanks for selecting our work and hopefully see you next year.
