The Los Angeles Drone Film Festival is the sister festival to the world’s first film festival exclusively dedicated to celebrating the art of drone cinematography The New York City Drone Film Festival.

Winning films from any of the previous New York City Drone Film Festivals are ineligible for entry in the Los Angeles Drone Film Festival.

The LADFF provides a platform for aerial filmmakers to showcase their work (shot anywhere in the world), emphasizing innovative flight technique, aesthetic beauty, compelling stories and more. The LADFF program is hand selected by a jury made up of Hollywoods professionals creative, media and technical professionals as well as established drone cinematographers.

Festival selections will be announced on or around Sept 1, 2017. All entrants will be posted at www.nycdronefilmfestival.com and notified by email. If selected, exhibition format digital files will be requested from the filmmakers.

Drones, drone gear, and other prizes.

All films must be 5 minutes or under in length and at least 50% must be shot using a drone or UAV.

Exceptions:

"Narrative" category entries can be up to 10 minutes in length.

All "Dronie" entries must be less than 1 minute in length.

All "Showreel" entries must be 3 minutes in length or under.

All "Drone use in Advertising" must be 2 minutes or under.

Films submitted to the "Drone use in Advertising" and "X -Factor" categories do not have to be shot with drones as long as the subject of the film is predominately about drones.

All entries must be through www.filmfreeway.com unless otherwise stated by Festival Director.

By entering your film for consideration for the 2017 Los Angeles Drone Film Festival, you authorize that your work is cleared for festival exhibition and accept full legal responsibility for the intellectual property therein. Entry into the Festival constitutes permission to exhibit your work at the 2017 Los Angeles Drone Film Festival.

The Los Angeles Drone Film Festival reserves the right to use excerpts of submitted films for promotional purposes only, including but not limited to broadcast on TV or the internet.

The person submitting the Film (hereafter called the "Applicant") acknowledges that he or she has obtained consent from any and all owners, creators, writers, actors, producers and/or other authorized representatives of the Film whose consent is required to submit the Film to the Festival.

It is the sole responsibility of the Applicant to secure authorization and permission from the copyright owner(s) of any and all copyrighted content or materials included within the submitted Film. It is the sole responsibility of the Applicant to secure authorization and permission from the owner(s) of any and all trademarked content and materials included within the submitted Film.

Films that have been submitted for Festival consideration in previous years or to the New York City Drone Film Festival are eligible for re-submission for 2017 Festival consideration, except if the film was awarded a prize at the New York City Drone Film Festival .

Festival organizers reserve the right to make exception to any of the rules at their discretion.
