A pioneer of LGBTQ cinema for over 30 years, image+nation is the oldest festival of its kind in Canada, showcasing award-winning local and international films that strive to preserve the authenticity and diversity of LGBTQ+ voices while chronicling an evolving queer cinematic practice. The Festival explores New Queer Storytelling - both the uniqueness and the universality of these stories - offering audiences contemporary representation of what it means to be LGBTQ+ in the 21st century.

Equally, image+nation’s mission is to promote and prepare both contemporary and future generations of queer storytellers and media makers. Through the development of educational and mentoring initiatives such as I+N Explore (inaugurated in 2016) image+nation continues its dedication to nurturing emerging content for an evolving queer cinema while building empathy through sharing stories with audiences here in Canada and throughout the world with its online initiatives.

The festival pivoted smoothly to a virtual edition for 2020 that felt as inclusive, engaging and supportive as past editions. Communication was efficient. The programming was strong with a diverse and eclectic selection of work. I was proud to screen my short film, Family.

Honoured to screen at Canada's longest running queer film festival with my feature film debut MixedUp. Kat and the team were very supportive. Would have loved to be there in person. Will have to just go when we can meet in person

image+nation is such a great film festival and I was proud to be a part of it, even if I couldn't travel due to COVID! Hopefully I'll be able to come back someday!

Good line up of films. They did two types of programing. First one is 'festival proper'. The second one is for short films only which is running til Dec 31. Thanks for selecting the film Love X Bites.
