Bath Film Festival has been championing brilliant cinema in Bath since 1990. Every autumn, the festival presents a bold and diverse programme of films, events and immersive screenings, showcasing the cinema audiences will be talking about long after the credits roll.

We are passionate about supporting emerging filmmakers and writers, creating opportunities for new voices to be discovered through our awards, showcases and industry activity. Whether you’re making your first short or premiering a feature, Bath Film Festival aims to be a platform that helps launch the next stage of your filmmaking journey.

Thank you Bath! What a wonderful place and a really fantastic festival. We loved the IMDB Script to Screen Awards and it was an absolute honour to be nominated my short Unauthorised Absence. The industry talks at the Egg were fantastic and I met so many great people. Really friendly volunteers, fantastic organisation and a brilliant time had by all. Thank you!

I had a a wonderful time at Bath Film Festival where we were lucky enough to win the Audience Award with our comedy What Would Mother Say? The films were very well curated and the evening was full of interactive experiences with there being a live read of scripts in competition which was really exciting to watch.

We were really able to feel the human touch with the organisers, which I find less and less common with festivals so that was a lovely bonus.

  • Thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Bath Film Festival. I was there as a part of the IMDB awards - each nominee had a table with drinks and food and you made to feel appreciated. Highly recommend being a part of it. Just wish there was more of an organised networking event afterwards where the venue wasn't packing up around you so we could have talked to more of the crowd.

Great festival, very well organised and highly recommended. The IMDb Script to Screen Award evening had a warm, welcoming atmosphere in an atmospheric venue. Ace team of actors delivering the script readings and a top panel of judges giving insightful feedback. An amazing and generous opportunity for screenwriters from IMDb and FilmBath.
