Bath Film Festival has been championing brilliant cinema in Bath since 1990. Every autumn, the festival presents a bold and diverse programme of films, events and immersive screenings, showcasing the cinema audiences will be talking about long after the credits roll.

IMDb New Filmmaker Award
The IMDb New Filmmaker Award champions emerging filmmaking talent and is open to filmmakers with a short film between 1 and 10 minutes in length that has not received previous distribution.
Fourshortlisted films will be selected to screen at the Bath Film Festival Awards Evening during Bath Film Festival, where a panel of industry judges will select the winning film.
Prize
£2,000 cash towards the winner’s next film
£1,000 worth of hire kit from Visual Impact (UK filmmakers only)
Selected submissions may also be considered for additional short film screenings across the festival programme.
IMDb Script to Screen Award
The IMDb Script to Screen Award supports emerging screenwriting talent and is open to original short film scripts between 1 and 10 pages. Four finalists will be shortlisted and invited to the Bath Film Festival Awards Evening during Bath Film Festival, where extracts from the scripts will be presented to a panel of industry judges who will select the winner.

£7,000 cash towards producing the winning screenplay
£1,000 worth of hire kit from Visual Impact (UK filmmakers only)
The award is designed to help bridge the gap between script and production, supporting the development of exciting new filmmaking voices.
South West Shorts Showcase
The South West Shorts Showcase celebrates bold new filmmaking voices from across the South West of England. Selected short films will screen as part of a dedicated showcase during Bath Film Festival at Everyman Bath. The showcase is designed to spotlight exciting regional talent and create opportunities for filmmakers to connect with audiences and fellow creatives during the festival.
Audience Award: Audience members will vote for their favourite film, with one filmmaker receiving the South West Shorts Audience Award.
South West Feature Selection
Bath Film Festival is seeking one standout feature film from a South West-based filmmaker or creative team to be selected as part of the Official Selection of Bath Film Festival. The selected feature will screen alongside major previews and new independent cinema from around the world as part of the wider festival programme, offering regional filmmakers the opportunity to present their work within one of the UK’s longest-running film festivals.
