Comicpalooza, Texas' Largest Comic and Pop Culture Event, features more than 22,000 hours of programming, 200 guest artists on the schedule and draws more than 40,000 fans to the George R. Brown Convention Center; and for the 5th year in a row, we will be presenting an outstanding program of narrative and animated feature length and short subject independent genre films. We had a very successful year in 2016 with our packed advanced screening of Warner Bros' LIGHTS OUT which was directed by David F. Sandberg. We pre-screened the trailer for Don't Breath, had panels with amazing talent and partnered with CryptTV and S.W.A.M.P in presenting screenings and awards.
Last season, we made huge strides in serving the film community and filmmakers, but we are working even harder to improve. Due to feedback from our film community, we have begun implementing more film related events and overhauling communication protocols that will allow for greater engagement with the fest and with other filmmakers.
With the success of the Marvel and DC Cinematic Universes, and the strength of DC television, and the Netflix/Marvel collaboration, with the popularity of shows like Syfy's Face/Off (in it's 11th season!) there is absolutely no denying that the Comicpalooza Film Festival is in a prime position at the intersection of worlds of content. Therefore, we are working to create as many opportunities as we can for all creators, artists, and creatives at one of the largest and most prestigious Conventions in Texas!
Please join us for our 5th Annual Film Festival at Comicpalooza!
