An totally unique and unapologetic celebration of fun exploitation (horror, thrillers, fantasy, sci-fi, erotic, comedy) and psychotronic (look it up) culture. With the emphasis on FUN and FUNDRAISING for Breast Cancer Charity the KEEP A BREAST FOUNDATION.
Our first event was held at Quentin Tarantino's NEW BEVERLY CINEMA in Los Angeles and was a massive success. We showcased the previously unseen world of Japanese Pink movies and were the first festival to have VAMPYRES (1975) star ANULKA DZIUBINSKA in attendance for a charity screening of VAMPYRES. We were also featured on IFC, RUE MORGUE, DREAD CENTRAL and LA WEEKLY. Our second event at LAEMMLE'S MONICA 4 was even bigger.
Past festivals have honored "Final Destination" creator JEFFREY REDDICK, Cosplay Superstar BRIGITTE BERLIN and Exploitation Superstar CHRISTINE NGUYEN. We feature all women judges and an all women panel on INDIE HORROR FILMMAKING. We are home to the SCREAMQUEEN-ATHON featuring a host of horror actresses including BEVERLY RANDOLPH, and American Horror Story's NAOMI GROSSMAN - raising money and funds for the KEEP A BREAST FOUNDATION.
We also launched the BOOBS & BLOOD magazine and offer all entrants the chance to have their work distributed through our partner FilmFest Distribution.
Past guests have included Fred Olen Ray, Mary Carey, Vernon Wells, Yutaka Ikejima, Bill Oberst Jr., Camden Toy, Lynn Lowry, Reiko Yamaguchi, the Chiodo Bros., Michelle Bauer, Barry Williams, the Suicide Girls, Yumi Yoshiyuki and Kevin Tenney. Past Award Winners include Roger Corman, Quentin Tarantino and Dee Wallace.
The festival is famous for featuring entertainment before screenings and covering everything from British Horror to the latest cult Japanese offering.
We want to see all your amazing work - from traditional to experimental, from slow burn to high octane, from creepy ghost stories to bloody horror - just be creative. And make it fun. BTW we're not interested in hardcore porn, overly grim works or torture porn. Those are for other festivals.
The event features classic B-Movie guests, and filmmakers will get to walk the red carpet and have their photos taken on the festival step and repeat.
Networking is also an essential part of this event, with ample time set aside for indie film networking, particularly on awards night.
We also hold raffles and raise money/awareness for our charity of choice - the Breast Cancer Charity KEEP A BREAST FOUNDATION.
Official selection films will be screened at the 2021 edition of the festival. Red carpet and award prizes will be given out then.
Winning entries not only win awards and prizes but also have the opportunity of being distributed (a non-exclusive contract) worldwide through our partner FILMFEST DISTRIBUTION.
Our venue is the unique Mayflower Club. We take it over and re-design it, making our own. It offers a great networking experience - with a full bar, lounge and refreshment area for informal socializing before and after screenings.
