CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS 2023

The 5th edition of the OCULTO HORROR FILM FESTIVAL seeks to provide a platform for filmmakers and content creators to showcase their work.

DISTRIBUTION

Selected productions will be shown during the festival on channel 44, as well as promoted through the festival's social networks. A signed letter for broadcasting acceptance will be required. If not provided, the film will only be screened in theaters.

GUIDELINES

Short films and feature films produced by minors under 18 years of age must be presented in accordance with federal telecommunications and audiovisual content laws. Therefore, a guardian or legal representative of the minor must approve the production's entry into the festival.

Participants can submit an unlimited number of projects, but each one must be presented under an individual and distinct application.

Registration to enter the festival will be done ONLY through FilmFreeway and the only formats accepted for judging at the festival are H.264, MP4, and MOV.

Unfinished productions may be submitted for consideration, as long as they have followed the registration process through FilmFreeway. However, we strongly recommend submitting only finished projects for the jury to appreciate the completed creative vision.

Regardless of the country or original language of the production, all footage whose original language is not Spanish must have Spanish subtitles or dubbing to be considered for the festival.

REQUIRED MATERIAL

All footage submitted to FilmFreeway for consideration must include a one-paragraph synopsis of the film.

Student filmmakers must provide valid student ID when submitting their footage.

All footage considered for the festival must include a 25-35 second trailer to promote the film prior to the festival.

Participants must sign a commitment letter accepting a remote or in-person interview to discuss their footage, career, creative process, distribution method, or similar topics within the OCULTO HORROR FILM FESTIVAL networks.

BENEFITS

Projection of the footage in Mexico and the USA.

Recognition for the best short film, best director, best actor, best actress, best cinematography, and best special and/or visual effects.

An exclusive master class for the producers and their creative team (not open to the general public) if selected for the festival.

CONVOCATORIA 2023

La 5ta edición del Festival de Cine de Horror OCULTO busca proporcionar una plataforma para cineastas y creadores de contenido para mostrar su trabajo.

DISTRIBUCIÓN

Las producciones seleccionadas se mostrarán durante el festival en el canal 44, así como promocionadas a través de las redes sociales del festival. Se requerirá una carta de aceptación para la transmisión. Si no se proporciona, la película solo se proyectará en teatros.

LINEAMIENTOS

Los cortometrajes y largometrajes producidos por menores de 18 años deben presentarse de acuerdo con las leyes federales de telecomunicaciones y contenido audiovisual. Por lo tanto, un tutor o representante legal del menor debe aprobar la entrada de la producción al festival.

Los participantes pueden presentar un número ilimitado de proyectos, pero cada uno debe presentarse bajo una aplicación individual y distinta.

La inscripción para entrar al festival se realizará SOLAMENTE a través de FilmFreeway y los únicos formatos aceptados para juzgar en el festival son H.264, MP4 y MOV.

Las producciones no terminadas pueden presentarse para su consideración, siempre y cuando hayan seguido el proceso de inscripción a través de FilmFreeway. Sin embargo, recomendamos fuertemente presentar solo proyectos terminados para que el jurado pueda apreciar la visión creativa completada.

Sin importar el país o idioma original de la producción, todo el metraje cuya lengua original no sea español debe tener subtítulos o doblaje al español para ser considerado para el festival.

MATERIAL REQUERIDO

Todo el metraje presentado a FilmFreeway para su consideración debe incluir un resumen de un párrafo de la película.

Los cineastas estudiantes deben proporcionar una identificación estudiantil válida al presentar su metraje.

Todo el metraje considerado para el festival debe incluir un trailer de 25-35 segundos para promocionar la película antes del festival.

Los participantes deben firmar una carta de compromiso aceptando una entrevista a distancia o en persona para discutir su metraje, carrera, proceso creativo, método de distribución u otros temas similares dentro de las redes del Festival de Cine de Horror OCULTO.

Reconocimiento para el mejor cortometraje, mejor director, mejor actor, mejor actriz, mejor fotografía y mejores efectos especiales y/o visuales.

Una clase magistral exclusiva para los productores y su equipo creativo (no abierta al público en general) si son seleccionados para el festival.
