IMDb qualifier WIFA is a free online competition for filmmakers and screenwriters aiming to be known and exposed to the whole world. (https://www.imdb.com/event/ev0034751/)

The main goal of our festival is to offer the always free opportunity to feature your projects (trailer or movie) on our website reaching our costantly growing online film industry coverage.

​Our festival offers the chance for filmmakers to compete and win a customized Laurel, a printable Certificate and, only if you want, featuring of your movie or trailer on our website to give you visibility (this is always for free).

Our mission is to introduce the audience with the filmmakers from over the world and to open new names, new filmmakers, thanks to our coverage.

The House of Independent Artists is our way to try to give something to the real breathing heart of film industry: the independent projects!

- The Best Short of the Fest will be the "Best World Short Film".
- IMDb accreditation for selected and winners.
- Printable Digital Certificate for the Winners.
- Official Laurel for selected and winners.
- Featured movie or trailer on our channels (only if you want).
- Special Mentions for Honorable Movies.

With your submission you automatically accept our Rules and Terms.

1. Only work created after 2021 is acceptable.
2. You agree to use parts of your film (including trailer/teaser/film poster/stills) for promotional purpose.
3. Multiple entries are not allowed. You can submit only one project. If you submit more than 1 project, you will be automatically disqualified for every submission. 1 project per director.
4. In case of entry fees, these are non-refundable.
5. By submitting to the festival you confirm that you own the rights to the work submitted.
6. No short films longer than 40 minutes.
7. No Premiere status is required.
8. We do not accept extremist or propaganda content from religious or political organizations.
9. We don't upload your movie on our channels without your approval.
10. Films in languages other than English only be accepted with English subtitles.
11. In case of "Additional Categories", you can add an "Additional Category" only after having choose a "Main Category" first.
12. In case of Live Event, World Indie Film Awards DOES NOT PAY SCREENING FEES.
13. If your film is selected by our festival, you automatically agree that we may use images from your project for marketing purposes for our festival. If you do not agreed, and do not consent to give us promotional rights to your material, please let us know via email; and then we will withdraw your film from the promotion of our festival. If we do not receive any notification from you within 48 hours after your film is selected, we will assume that you agree this policy.
14. Write us for a pdf of Rules & Terms at the date of your submission or copy them.
15. At our discretion, we may choose to transfer a film to the correct category.

With your submission you also accept all the Rules, Terms and Policies of FilmFreeway.

Judging and Selection Process

All submissions will be viewed in their entirety. Submissions will be judged and scored based on criteria including: quality of screenplay, acting, production quality, originality, technical proficiency, cinematography, sound design, editing and set design. We support indie filmmaking and will award additional points to shorts produced on a micro budget and/or minimal crew. The best short of the fest will be the "Best World Short Film".

Notification

The directors of submitted films that are accepted will be notified via e-mail.
