VENEZIA SHORTS is an exclusive short film competition with public screenings, Imdb qualifying , and an a total of USD 3500 in cash prizes awards along the year.
We are happy to welcome filmmakers from all over the world and short films of all genres.
Our main goal is to showcase their brilliant projects in the beautiful city of Venezia for a diverse audience of cinephiles.
We will hold an Annual Live Event at the city of Venezia.
We will promote, feature and screen all Main Category Award-Winning Short Films free of charge, enhancing the opportunity for networking with directors, cast, crew and people from the industry.
Additionally, we will hold online sessions consisting of Q&As with directors, cast and/or crew as well as interviews with filmmakers that will be published on our social media and on the NEWS section of this website. Furthermore, all Official Selection films from each season will receive official laurels and will be screened in our quarterly Online Events.
Our lineup includes films by Pilar Garcia-Fernandezsesma from the USA, Student Academy Award Winner Animation (Domestic Film Schools). Pascal Schelbli from Germany, Student Academy Award Winner Animation (International Film Schools). Maren Klakegg from Norway, Student Academy Award Winner Documentary (International Film Schools. Jesse Boyle from Australia, International touring artist with international band Chase Atlantic, Percival Argüero Mendoza from Mexico, Student Academy Awards Winner Narrative (International Film Schools). Nicolaj Kopernikus from Denmark. German Golub from Estonia, Student Academy Award Winner Narrative (International Film Schools). Andoni Betbeder from France, Winner Best Short of the Season August-December 2021. Sylvain Begert from France, Winner Best Short of the Season May-August 2021. And a new wave of Italian filmmakers Letizia Borficchia, Andrea Walts, Sophie Perazzollo, Francesco Massimiliano Gozzo and Frank Dell'Oro.
It is a world-class event committed to present the best of this beautiful art called ‘Cinema’ and dedicated to all generations of filmmakers. A team of professional screeners will evaluate all the submitted short films. All the highest scored films will be selected for the official competition and will be reviewed by at least by three judges who will decide the best of each season.
All the Winners will receive the Official Laurels and the winning-category achievement certificate. Quarterly, the jury will choose from the Official Selection a film that will receive the JURY'S DISTINCTION AWARD with a cash prize of USD 1000.
All main categories winning films will be screened at our public Live Event.
A TOTAL OF USD 3000 IN CASH PRIZES AWARDS ALONG THE YEAR.
JURY
To keep the Awards fair and transparent, we invite independent judges from all around the world who enjoy the experience and assess each category.
Each short film will be reviewed at least for three judges after the film is scored by our screening team. Our judges team includes artists from the United States, Canada, Austria, Spain, Argentina and Sweden.
