International Diversity Film Festival Moldova has become the premiere festival to celebrate diversity in Eastern Europe. Our event will take place in Chisinau, the capital of Moldova, on 15th-16th September 2017, 2016 during the International Day of Democracy.
Diversity Festival is a key event that celebrates our incredible diversity. Our aim is to bring diverse communities together to embrace our differences and discover our shared experiences. It is a focus through which filmmakers promotes, challenges and develops an understanding of equality, social justice, non-discrimination, diversity and multiculturalism. We encourage films focussing on LGBT, religious minorities, people of various ethnical backgrounds, etc.
The Film Festival will exhibit a quality selection of narrative features, documentary features, short films, animated films and experimental films.
All accepted filmmakers are provided with festival all-access passes, but will need to cover their own costs of transportation and accommodation in Chisinau. For international filmmakers, a letter of invitation will be sent to get a Moldovan visa.
The festival will provide filmmakers lounge stocked with food, drink, desserts, press interview areas, and other treats generously sponsored by USA Embassy of Moldova.
IDFFM awards prize packages include a guide touristic tour in the most famous touristic attractions of Moldova, especially for international filmmakers and award certificates for each nominalized category.
Films in competition are juried by a group of industry professionals and audience awards are determined by balloting following each film.
