The CALIFORNIA MUSIC VIDEO AWARDS celebrate some of the most year's exciting and creative music videos, music, musicians, artists, films and directors. They honor great work and excellence.

  • Dear California Music Video & Film Awards

Thank you so much for honoring my music video Congo Square as an Award Winner at the California Music Video & Film Awards.
We are honored to receive the Award for Best World Music and SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENT WINNER: Social Justice and Hope. It means a great deal to have this project recognized by your festival.

My sincere thanks to my collaborators Bob Ciano and Stephen Jablonsky for their creative vision and dedication, and to the California Music Video & Film Awards for celebrating and supporting independent artists and original work. The awards ceremony held in SF was a great gathering of creatives. We enjoyed seeing the entrants and winners and connecting with the attendees. It was very well curated and attended. The special bonus is the great medallion given to the award winners. Thank you for the bling!

    With appreciation,
    Roger Glenn

  • I have observed, in my long and suspicious study of mankind, that nothing so distinguishes a serious enterprise from a frivolous one as its paperwork. The California Music Video & Film Awards proved this principle handsomely. Before one so much as blinked in the direction of submission, the organization had already furnished a tidy set of contact instructions, trailer specifications, and preview format requirements so precise that even a riverboat engineer would have felt at home.

There was no guesswork, no interpretive dance required to divine what runtime might appease the gatekeepers. The correspondence was prompt, the expectations plain, and the standards unwavering. In short, it was conducted with the kind of professional sobriety that reassures an artist he is not casting his labor into the Mississippi at flood stage.

As for the event itself, it bore the mark of careful curation. Selections were not flung together like driftwood but arranged with evident intention. One could sense that someone had looked, listened, and judged—rather than merely counted entries and called it culture. The program moved with order, dignity, and an agreeable respect for both creator and audience.

It is a rare pleasure, in these latter days, to encounter an organization that understands that art may be passionate, but administration ought to be precise. The California Music Video & Film Awards managed both—an accomplishment worthy of note, and rarer than a steamboat captain who keeps his hat on in a gale.
