The inaugural Vienna Screenings Film Festival (VSFF) launches in September 2026, celebrating emerging and independent filmmakers with a strong focus on exciting and groundbreaking international and local voices.

VSFF is a carefully curated, filmmaker-focused festival featuring intimate screenings, industry talks, and vibrant post-screening gatherings in one of Vienna’s iconic indie cinemas.

We are seeking bold, original independent fiction and documentary films that deserve to be experienced with an engaged film-loving audience.

Selected filmmakers will be invited to attend, connect, and celebrate their work in a supportive, community-driven environment. Travel stipends are available for international participants.

Rules & Terms

Our programmers will consider rough cuts and will judge the film accordingly. When submitting a rough cut, please provide details of the elements of your film still to be completed.

If your film contains non-English dialogue, we require that you include on-screen subtitles. If your film is mostly in English and you are intentionally leaving out subtitles for non-English dialogue, you do not need to provide on-screen subtitles.

All submissions will be informed of our Official Selection by Aug 29, 2026 and our Screening Guidelines will be sent to you selected filmmakers.
