From February 16-19, 2017, the international documentary industry will once again gather in Eindhoven for the 4th edition of DOCfeed. With a program of the finest selection of films, and an friendly audience, with workshops for and by documentary professionals.

DOCfeed is one of the newest celebration of the documentary genre in the world. We hope to see you all here! We offer the option to submit and review your documentary on-line.

One of the things that make our festival unique is that we will do the screenings in pop-up cinema’s, mainly in old Philipps buildings (as Eindhoven is the hometown of Philipps) and museums. Have a close look at the pictures to see the warm ad nice atmosphere of our festival, or check our Facebook page to read the reactions of filmmakers and visitors to our festival.

The festival for documentaries is open now. We accept only Documentaries. We hope to sustain and promote filmmakers, especially independent filmmakers around the world, to continue their creativity and produce their artworks; to inspire all filmmakers to never stop chasing their dreams in creating excellent movies, and to participate in the film industry.

Newcomers are welcomed. The films will be pre-selected before presented to a judge panel.

SUBMIT AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE! Submitting early not only allows more time for consideration, but also guarantees you won’t miss the final deadline. No late submissions will be considered at all. Seriously!

PREMIERE/BROADCAST STATUS: To continue raising the prestige of DOCfeed - with audiences and filmmakers – our priority is to program films (of all lengths) that have exclusive, Dutch premiere status. A cast & crew screening or screenings in other countries does not disqualify a film, but preference will be given to Dutch premieres.

DOCFEED SCOPES: The films we selected last year were mainly in the corner of Human Interest, culture and music. For the 2017 edition, we will broaden the scope. ALL documentaries are welcomed, but keep in mind what we are especially interested in.
HUMAN INTEREST: what is about people and about human concerns, issues and feelings. This is a type of 'format' focusing on personal actions and consequences, and used dramatic, humorous and narrative styles. It is mostly about everyday emotions and events.
CULTURE: All those things that people think, do and have: habits and customs, way of living, religion, values, art, theatre, performance, mode of existence, music, objects, eating habits and manner of dress, buildings, etc….
MUSIC: music is a broad issue, we focus on documentaries dealing with musicians, the style (blues, rock, classical, etc. )
For the 2017 edition we are also looking for: FOOD, science, art, history, literature, travel, mockumentaries, animated documentaries.
We are NOT looking for documentaries with some political overtones or preference.

SUBMISSION CONTACT: The submitter shall be either a producer, director or authorized agent of the film. All communication will be sent to the person submitting.

PLEASE. DO NOT SEND: In keeping with our effort to become a carbon neutral festival, we request that you DO NOT SEND press kits, photo stills, or any other publicity materials before your film is accepted.

LANGUAGE: All films with non-Dutch dialogue must have ENGLISH subtitles.

ENTRY FEES: Entry fees are non-refundable and the fees listed are per entry, in U.S. dollars. It is good to know that all of the entry fee will be used to cover the cost for accommodations for directors of accepted films that are visiting DOCfeed.

FEE WAIVERS: NO FEE WAIVERS will be considered. Don't e-mail us, don't phone us, don't hunt us down on the streets - we've worked very hard to create an affordable submission system that offsets a (very) small portion of our costs. Trust us... filmmaker submission fees are not a revenue generator for any festival.

Wonderful festival, great venue and most important: it is about passion for documentary films! It might seem a bit colored from an award winner film maker, but I really like this festival and I highly recommend DOCfeed to everyone with a documentary heart.

DOCfeed is a great film festival, I particularly admire their passion for programming films that think outside of the box. The festival itself encourages artists and filmmakers to get to know each other within it's intimate setting over the duration of the festival! Definitely recommend visiting and submitting!!
