FEES, ELIGIBILITY, & DEADLINES
Each maker is allowed a maximum of three (3) submissions for the festival. aDifferent festival accepts works with a maximum length of 30 minutes, completed after January 1, 2015. Premiere status is not required for aDifferent festival, but will be designated should the artist wish to have the status published.
There are two deadlines for submissions to aDifferent festival —
REGULAR DEADLINE — DECEMBER 30, 2017
EXTENDED DEADLINE — JANUARY 5, 2018
FilmFreeway EXTENDED DEADLINE -- JANUARY 10, 2018
The entry fee for submissions is:
REGULAR DEADLINE — $5 USD per submission
EXTENDED DEADLINE — $10 USD per submission
Entry fees can be paid via PayPal on aCinema’s website.
SUBMISSION CONFIRMATION
aCinema will contact artists with a brief email confirming a finished submission of entry(ies) upon receipt of submission fees.
PREVIEW COPIES
To submit a film, please use the entry form and provide a preview link (via Vimeo, YouTube, FilmFreeway, etc.) to the work. A private or password protected link is preferred, but not required. If you would like to send a physical preview copy, please send them to the following address. If a physical preview copy is sent, please note that the filmmaker is responsible for all shipping costs and the preview material will NOT be returned. Physical preview copies must be received by January 5, 2018 to be considered for aDifferent festival.

SELECTED WORKS
Once a work has been selected, it may not be withdrawn at a later date.
Selected artists and works will be notified via email shortly after the EXTENDED DEADLINE of January 5, 2018. Full program details will be published on aCinema’s website. All selected works must be delivered by January 25th, 2018. For digital files, a file transfer of materials is preferred. Digital copies must be sent in AppleProRes422 or a high quality h.264 format.
Selected artists acknowledge that works may be included in subsequent touring or installed exhibitions. Artists will be notified of such instances, and may opt out of additional screening and exhibitions opportunities if desired.

All international works shall be clearly labeled “For Cultural Purposes Only, NO COMMERCIAL VALUE” and be valued at less than $20 USD.
If shipping physical works, please ensure delivery by January 25th, 2018. Works not received by this date may be unable to screen in the festival program.
The maker is responsible for all shipping costs to aDifferent festival. aCinema will cover return shipping costs.
