ONLY DIGITAL SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
Only one title may be submitted per entry fee.
Students must include a photocopy of current student ID with entry.
Works in progress are accepted. While you may submit the final cut up until May 25, your original submission should be a fair representation of your final piece. Please include information as to what still needs to be completed (color correction, score, etc.) in your film file or on your cover letter.
All works selected must be available in full, via digital download, by May 25, 2017 for inclusion in the festival.
Entries must have been completed on or after January 1, 2015.
Westercon 70 Film Festival DOES NOT PAY SCREENING FEES. By submitting your film via FilmFreeway you acknowledge that the festival will not pay to present your work.
The official submission period will be from November 1st, 2016 through May 6th, 2017.
Participants do not need to attend the Westercon 70 in order to be eligible
NO anonymous submissions will be accepted.
All entries will be pre-screened by the Westercon 70 Film Festival staff to determine selection
The Westercon 70 is a family-friendly event and preference will be given to films appropriate for all-ages viewing. Submissions not suitable for all-ages will be considered for late-night screenings. No pornographic material will be accepted or considered
UPON ACCEPTANCE FOR COMPETITION:
Accepted entries will be notified beginning May 25th and no later than June 10th, 2017
Any works-in-progress accepted for competition will be expected to be finalized for presentation at the Westercon 70 and submitted to the festival on or before May 25th.
Watermarked accepted features will NOT be screened. Non-watermarked features must be provided for screenings on or before May 25th
Accepted entries will receive ONE participant pass good for the date of screening at Westercon 70. Any additional passes must be purchased by the filmmakers through Westercon 70. Westercon 70 Film Festival is unable to provide any additional passes or assist in obtaining additional passes. Individual tickets to screenings are not available.
PROMOTIONAL USE:
Participants agree that all materials related to their film may be published in the Festival Program, Web page and all other promotional materials or property and in all media. Posters and images of the film may be used independently as well as in combination with images from other films to promote the film and Westercon 70 Film Festival.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
By entering your film for consideration for the Westercon 70 Film Festival, you authorize that your work is cleared for festival exhibition and accept full legal responsibility for the intellectual property therein. Entry into the festival constitutes permission to exhibit your work at the 2017 Westercon 70 Film Festival. The Westercon 70 Film Festival is also hereby granted the right to utilize an excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the Festival for promotional purposes. The undersigned shall indemnify and hold harmless the Westercon 70 Film Festival from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered. The Westercon 70 Film Festival may opt to withdraw your work from the festival at any time for any reason. The Westercon 70 Film Festival, DOES NOT PAY SCREENING FEES. By submitting your film via FilmFreeway you acknowledge that the festival will not pay to present your work. Westercon 70 Film Festival reserves the right to disqualify any submission without refund of submission fees. Westercon 70 Film Festival does not issue refunds
