1.5 MONTIFF is one of the film festivals organised by IBERIFF. Each IBERIFF festival (MADRIFF, BARCIFF, VALÈIFF, SEVIFF, LISBIFF, and MONTIFF) has its own independent selection process and jury. To participate in any of them, you must submit your film separately through their respective pages on the submission platforms.

1.7 We accept works from any country in the world, produced on or after 1 January 2024.

3.2 The films selected for the competition will be announced on MONTIFF‘s social media platforms.
3.3 Among the selected films, our team will choose, at their discretion, the works to be presented at our quarterly screening events. Screening selections are independent from the decisions determining the annual winners announced in October.
3.4 All selected films automatically compete in the additional categories Best Direction, Best Actress, and Best Actor, with no extra fee.
3.5 During the first week of October, the jury will announce the annual winners in each category, along with any honourable mentions. These will be invited to take part in the awards event in Montpellier, later that month.

I had the pleasure of screening my film "The Reflection" at this festival, and the experience was genuinely rewarding from start to finish.

What stood out most was the overall quality of the entire experience — the organization was smooth and professional, the atmosphere was welcoming, and most importantly, there was a real live audience engaged with the films. In an era where so many festivals have shifted online or operate without actual screenings, it felt meaningful to present "The Reflection" in a real space, in front of real people.

The team was attentive and communicative throughout the process, and the screening itself went beautifully. You could feel the passion for independent cinema in every aspect of how the festival was run.

I wholeheartedly recommend this festival to fellow filmmakers looking for a genuine, human connection between their film and its audience. That is, after all, why we make films.

Thank you for giving "The Reflection" such a wonderful home.

  • Very grateful to have my short doc 'A Frog Plays Piano' (co-directed by Ben McLaren) screened here. I experienced clear and friendly communication, a high level of films, a full house of audience,
hosts taking their time to discuss the different films, and interview the filmmakers. Great job!
