In October, the 'Experimental Film Guanajuato' festival will screen the best of international experimental cinema and new media for the eighth consecutive year in the capital city of Guanajuato (UNESCO World Heritage City).
The experimental pieces will be exhibited in museums, cinemas, and cultural spaces, attracting approximately 45,000 tourists every weekend in October during the 53rd International Cervantino Festival, Mexico's largest cultural event."
Our categories are:
+ International Short-film and Feature-film:
Open call for experimental film submissions. No restrictions of theme, production or year. This call is exclusive for filmmakers NOT residing in Mexico and/or South America.
+ Mexican/Latin American Short-film and Feature film:
Open call for experimental films. No restrictions of theme, production, or year. This call is exclusive for filmmakers residing in South America and/or Mexico; however, foreign filmmakers residing in Guanajuato can participate.
+Experimental Guanajuato film:
Open call for experimental films. No restrictions of production, or year. This call is exclusive for filmmakers residing within the state of Guanajuato.
+ Videodance:
Open call for Videodance films with a 30-minute time limit. No restrictions of theme, production, nationality, or year.
+ Experimental Animation Film
Open call for animation short-films with a 30-minute time limit. No restrictions of theme, country or production year.
+ Experimental New York Films
Open call for short-films with a 30-minute time limit. No restrictions of theme or production year. Exclusively for filmmakers residing in the state of New York, United States.
+ Experimental Horror Film
Open call for the submissions of experimental films that explore the horror genre. With a limited duration of 30 minutes, without restrictions on production budgets or year.

En octubre, el Experimental Film Guanajuato proyecta por octavo año consecutivo lo mejor del cine experimental internacional y nuevos medios, en Guanajuato Capital (Ciudad Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO).
Las piezas experimentales se exhibirán en museos, cines y espacios culturales abiertos al público de Guanajuato, que registra aproximadamente 45 mil turistas cada fin de semana gracias a la celebración del 53 Festival Internacional Cervantino, el festival cultural más grande de México.
Nuestras categorías son:
+ Cortometraje y Largometraje Internacional:
Convocatoria abierta para la presentación de películas experimentales. Sin restricciones de tema, producción o año. Esta convocatoria es Exclusiva para realizadores que NO residan en México y/o Sudamérica.
+ Cortometraje y Largometraje Mexicano/Latinoamericano:
Convocatoria abierta para películas experimentales. Sin restricciones de tema, producción o año. Esta convocatoria es exclusiva para realizadores residentes en Sudamérica y/o México.
+Cine Experimental Guanajuato:
Convocatoria abierta para películas experimentales. Sin restricciones de producción, ni de año. Esta convocatoria es exclusiva para realizadores residentes dentro del estado de Guanajuato.
+ Vídeodanza:
Convocatoria abierta para películas de Videodanza con un límite de tiempo de 30 minutos. Sin restricciones de tema, producción, nacionalidad o año.
+ Película Experimental de Animación
Convocatoria abierta para cortometrajes de animación con un límite de tiempo de 30 minutos. Sin restricciones de tema, país o año de producción.
+ Experimental New York Films
Convocatoria abierta para cortometrajes con un límite de tiempo de 30 minutos. Sin restricciones de tema o año de producción. Exclusivamente para cineastas residentes en el estado de Nueva York, Estados Unidos.
+ Película Experimental de Horror
Convocatoria abierta para la presentación de películas experimentales que exploren el género de horror. Con una duración limitada a 30 minutos, sin restricciones de presupuesto ni año de producción.
+ All selected participants will receive a participation certificate from the "Experimental Film Guanajuato" festival. No financial remuneration nor awards will be given.
+ The qualifying jury of the Experimental Film Guanajuato festival will review all submissions sent by participants.
+ Every selected filmmaker will be invited to interview (written or video) with Retransmision, to be posted on social media.
+ Each selected film will have an individual section on the festival website, with the technical specifications of the film as well as its synopsis and the contact details of the filmmakers.
+ “Experimental Film Guanajuato” festival does not offer any financial remuneration nor cover travel expenses.
+ The festival committee will notify any participants of scheduling changes.
+ In addition to their certificate of participation, all selected filmmakers will be included in the "Retransmisión" film catalog, which includes the following benefits:
+ PROMOTION of the filmmakers' projects through " Retransmisión " media (blog, social networks, etc.).
+ SPECIAL OFFERS with discounts and direct invitations to other international events promoted by “Retransmisión”.
+ INVITATION LETTERS: If required, we provide an official letter of invitation.
+ TRIP PLANNING ASSISTANCE: We provide information and advice on travel to the festival (the festival will not cover any travel expenses).

+ Todos los participantes seleccionados recibirán un certificado de participación del festival "Experimental Film Guanajuato". No se otorgarán premios ni compensaciones económicas.
+ El jurado calificador del festival del Experimental Film Guanajuato revisará todas las presentaciones enviadas por los participantes.
+ Cada cineasta seleccionado será invitado a una entrevista (escrita o en video) con Retransmisión, para ser publicada en las redes sociales.
+ Cada película seleccionada tendrá un apartado individual en la web del festival, con las especificaciones técnicas de la película así como su sinopsis y los datos de contacto de los realizadores.
+ El "Experimental Film Guanajuato” no ofrece remuneración económica ni cubre gastos de viaje.
+ Además de su certificado de participación, todos los realizadores seleccionados serán incluidos en el catálogo de "Retransmisión", que incluye los siguientes beneficios:
+ PROMOCIÓN de los proyectos de los realizadores a través de los medios de "Retransmisión" (blog, redes sociales, etc.).
+ OFERTAS ESPECIALES con descuentos e invitaciones directas a otros eventos internacionales promovidos por “Retransmisión”.
+ CARTAS DE INVITACIÓN: Si lo requiere, proporcionamos una carta de invitación oficial.
+ ASISTENCIA EN LA PLANIFICACIÓN DEL VIAJE: Brindamos información y asesoramiento sobre el viaje al festival (el Experimental Film Guanajuato no cubrirá los gastos de viaje).
