1. ENTRANT REQUIREMENTS:
Films must be submitted under the director’s name. The director will receive the award.
2. FILM REQUIREMENTS:
Submissions must have been completed on or after January 1st, 2016. Submissions may not exceed 30 minutes in length. Please refrain from excessive nudity. Acceptances are at the discretion of the judges and officers of the Troy University Cinematography Society. Films must be primarily in English or be fully subtitled in English otherwise.
3. SUBMISSION DEADLINES:
Earlybird Deadline for film submissions is DECEMBER 1, 2018, regular Deadline is FEBRUARY 1, 2019, and Late Deadline is FEBRUARY 21, 2019. Films must be submitted through FilmFreeway.com. Promotional materials (posters, trailers, still frames, behind the scenes photos/videos, etc.) are encouraged, but not required.
Official selections that will screen at the festival will be announced on APRIL 11, 2019. Entrants may submit multiple films to the festival.
4. CATEGORIES:
Submissions may be entered into the following categories:
• Student
• Smartphone
• Independent
Student category entrants must be enrolled in a school, college, or university. Smartphone category submissions must be shot entirely with a smartphone. Student submissions may be entered into both the college category and smartphone category (if applicable). Independent shorts include any submissions under 30 minutes that are not made by students.
5. SUBMISSION FEES:
Submission fee amounts can be found on the FilmFreeway page. Fees are non-refundable.
6. AWARDS:
The following awards will be given during the award ceremony:
• Best of Fest
• Best Smartphone Film
• Best Student Film
• Crowd Favorite
Submitters using an entry fee waiver are not eligible for cash prizes.
7. ENTRY TO THE FESTIVAL:
Entry to the event is free.
8. PAST SUBMISSIONS:
If your film has not previously been screened at the festival, it may be submitted again. If it has been screened, it will be disqualified. This is to ensure new content for festival-goers every year.
