Your 'Reel' Journey Companion.

Caravan International Film Festival (CIFF) is more than just a platform — it's a journey for storytellers across the globe, crafted for filmmakers who are ready to share their voice with the world. With monthly live screenings, we provide a stage for independent creators to connect with real audiences, showcasing diverse stories that inspire, challenge, and entertain. Each month, selected films receive official laurels, certificates, and the recognition they deserve.

But the journey doesn’t end there. Monthly winners earn a coveted spot at our annual red carpet mega event — a grand celebration where the season’s finest films are screened in front of fellow filmmakers, cinephiles, and industry professionals. Here, the very best are honored with the prestigious CIFF trophy, marking a milestone in their creative journey.

At CIFF, we believe in the power of cinema to transcend borders and spark meaningful conversations. Whether you're an emerging filmmaker or a seasoned storyteller, we invite you to join the caravan — and let your reel journey begin.

Please read these Rules & Terms carefully before submitting your film. By entering your work into competition at the Caravan International Film Festival (CIFF), you acknowledge and agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions:

Language & Subtitles:
Films not in English must include English subtitles. Submissions without subtitles will be automatically disqualified.

Multiple Submissions:
A director or producer may submit more than one film, either in the same category or across multiple categories.

Right to Refuse Entries:
CIFF reserves the right to refuse or disqualify any submission at its discretion.

Submission Fees & Categories:
Entry fees are non-refundable. Films submitted in the wrong category or without the appropriate fee or media may be deemed ineligible.

Clarification on Honorable Mention:
Being listed as an Honorable Mention does not guarantee screening at the festival. It is essentially the category in which our jury places a project that is too good to be excluded. As a token of acknowledgement and encouragement, and provides them a certificate and our official laurel.

Awards and Screening:
Winning films in each category will be showcased every season and will receive an official certificate and laurel. Monthly winners will automatically qualify for our annual red carpet event, where the Best of the Best will be screened before a live audience of filmmakers and cinema enthusiasts, and awarded the prestigious CIFF Trophy.

Withdrawal Policy:
Once submitted, a filmmaker cannot withdraw their film and request a refund. All entry fees are final and non-refundable.

Mandatory Materials:
Each submission must include a trailer or poster, film synopsis, and a screening link. Please ensure the correct category is selected. CIFF reserves the right to re-assign films to a more appropriate category if necessary.

Amendments to Rules:
CIFF may revise these Rules & Terms without prior notice. Any updates become effective immediately, and it is the submitter's responsibility to review them periodically.

For me as filmmaker, this festival was a zero-experience. Even so I was informed before the festival date that my submission received a Honorable Mention, there was no further communication at all, to the degree that I cannot be certain that this festival actually took place. There is also no information on the website about screening dates and locations. I'd suggest to FilmFreeway up raise the standard and request a minimum effort and evidence of screenings to avoid potential scams.

    Response from festival:

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that your experience felt unclear, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify a few points for transparency.

All important information regarding each season, including the notification date, event date, venue, and screening timings, is published on our FilmFreeway page from the beginning of the season, and remains visible throughout the season. We expect all participating filmmakers to review these details before submitting, so everyone knows in advance what to expect from our schedule. Our current edition follows the same structure as well.

Over the years, we’ve refined our scheduling based on experience. While earlier editions had a longer gap between notification and event dates, we observed that international filmmakers typically do not attend in person, whereas local filmmakers do. As a result, we’ve streamlined the timeline for monthly events. However, our annual award winners are always notified well in advance (generally 30+ days before the gala) to allow sufficient time for travel planning.
Regarding the legitimacy of our screenings, we fully understand the importance of trust. Each season, we are required to submit photographic evidence of our screenings to FilmFreeway for verification, and these materials are also shared on our page. Our festival has been running successfully for multiple years with in-person events and participating filmmakers.

In your case specifically, your Honorable Mention was confirmed on the notification date, and your official laurel and personalized certificate were sent shortly thereafter. We also noticed that the project was later withdrawn.

We genuinely regret that your experience did not meet expectations and we always appreciate constructive criticism and acknowledge that communication can always be improved further. Nonetheless, implying that the festival may be a scam is both inaccurate and unfair to the filmmakers, jury members, venue partners, and team members who have supported and attended our events over multiple years.

We sincerely wish you the very best with your film and future projects.

I had a wonderful experience with the Caravan International Film Festival. I am truly grateful that my film Believe In Love received Honorable Mentions in both the Short Film and Silent Film categories—this recognition means a great deal to me.

It is especially meaningful to have the film acknowledged both for its storytelling and its silent format. The festival offers a supportive platform for independent filmmakers, and I truly appreciate the opportunity to be included.

Thank you again for the recognition, and I would gladly recommend this festival to fellow filmmakers.
