„Perspektive Zukunft / Future Perspective“
A non-dialogue short film festival as part of KUNSTFEST WEIMAR 2021

The KUNSTFEST WEIMAR (an annual multi-disciplinary arts festival in the City of Weimar, Germany that takes place from August 25 to September 11, 2021) is calling filmmakers from Weimar and across the the world to send us their short films. Our aim is a truly global conversation about the future, the state of our climate, and a more sustainable way of life. We welcome submissions of films that communicate through the force of their imagery and soundscapes but do not rely on dialogue or the spoken word. „Perspektive Zukunft / Future Perspective“ wants to present films from a range of cultures and contexts that do not rely on language or subtitles in order to be understood. Another world is possible - let us make it happen!

This festival is curated by the filmmakers Sahar Darvishzadeh and Salman Vakili on behalf of KUNSTFEST WEIMAR with support from the Thüringer Ministerium für Umwelt, Energie und Naturschutz (ie. the ministry of environment, energy and conservation of the Free State of Thuringia).

Please send your contributions to arne.pohlmeier@nationaltheater-weimar.de.

Selected films will be presented at a free public screening event in Weimar on September 2, 2021.
