A Femme International Film Festival is a premier festival that focuses on platforming women filmmakers “by women, for everyone”. Our Festival was created in 2005, when it became apparent that there was a need to enhance women behind the camera as Directors, Producers, and Writers. We were the first in Los Angeles to host such an event and film festival empowering women. All those that followed are just duplicates of the movement we started over a decade ago.

Through our Partners and Sponsors we have provided one-one-one meetings with our filmmakers or helped secure financing. CBS Entertainment Diversity Department met with a selected group of our filmmakers with the goal to offer potential employment and/or placement as a director or writer under their diversity department. It is through our direct efforts that these opportunities are being secured for our LA Femme Int. Film Festival Filmmakers.

As LA Femme moves into the next few years, it plans to expand its platform so that more women in the industry and from around the world can have the benefit of taking their film to the next level through increased distribution outlets, more key positions in the entertainment industry and more recognition as artistic creators emerging as leaders in the industry.

Our goal is to create more such opportunities through exemplary programming, networking, and panel events. A classic professional atmosphere will create a sense of ‘opportunity’ for participants. LA Femme International Film Festival is “By Women for Everyone.”

Objectives:
To continually showcase and celebrate commercially viable films Written, Directed, or Produced by women.

To opening a pathway for women entering the industry by encouraging mentor-ship and artistic sharing between those women established in the field and those just beginning.

To Platform new emerging talent and support established women in cross-over roles.

To Distribute the feature films that are plat formed in our festival with domestic theatrical releases and home video distribution.

Mission:
La Femme International Film Festival will support and nurture the artistic entertainment productions of women for the benefit of distribution to an international and domestic audience.

Emphasis:
»Our emphasis is on providing a complete specialized festival based on showcasing and celebrating commercially successful films written, directed, or produced by women and creating a system of access for those new to the industry directly to established women industry professionals.
»To assist in distribution of these films
»To mentor other women into positions of power in the independent and big budget, studio entertainment community.

Summary:
LA Femme Film Festival is more than a festival it is an emergence of artistic, professional women who make a difference in the entertainment community by creating productions that speak to a world wide audience. We were the first festival of its kind in Beverly Hills to not only platform existing films and artists but also distribute and mentor such films and the woman artists who created them.

In addition, each winner receives a crystal award, gifts and prizes valued up to $3,000.

Rules & Terms

ATTENTION FILMMAKERS: If you are submitting from a 3rd world nation or embargoed country and not from the United States a physical DVD or Blue Ray DVD should be sent to our office even if you have an online submission. Sending these DVDs (2 standard DVDs Disks or one each if you are sending a Blue Ray DVD) it is highly suggested due to the sometimes months to get DVDs to our office from different countries we have found that this saves the filmmaker a lot of cost and stress. If you are selected to screen in the festival you will need to get those DVDs to us very fast. Our announcement date and the date we need Exhibition copies in our office is very very short. For this reason we do suggest sending along those DVDs after you have submitted online. This is not a requirement but strong suggestion.

DVD's must be formatted for Zone 1 / North America or Zone 0 / All Regions. No other zones are accepted. Email us if you need any exceptions to this. You MUST include your tracking prefix number on your DVD. (This is for submissions from third world or embargoed countries. Online submissions are accepted for those in Canada, US and Continental European nations. See above for more details)

Please mail all materials to the following address:
LA Femme International Film Festival
324 S. Beverly Dr.#436
Beverly Hills, CA 90212

Also note you will be disqualified if you are screening in another woman's festival in LOS ANGELES during the same weekend as our festival. We want to ensure that our festival attendees are able to participate and network with our industry professionals and if your attention is split then you may not make the most of the events.

Yes we do project on digital projection. However, the digital projection options are given at time of film selection in the festival.

As many as you like. Or you can re-submit your film if it was not selected last year. However, each submitted film must have its own VHS tape or DVD, completed Submission Form, Entry Fee, and Supplemental Materials. DO NOT put multiple projects on the same screening tape or DVD. Even if you are submitting a commercial or music video.

IF MY FILM IS NOT CHOSEN, MAY I SPEAK WITH A PROGRAMMER FOR NOTES OR FEEDBACK?
Unfortunately, no. With over 3,000 films to go through, we don't have enough time to speak or correspond with you individually about your film. Please forgive us. But what we will do is offer you one ticket to attend the festival and parties so that you can network if you film is NOT selected to screen.

WHEN WILL I FIND OUT IF MY FILM WAS SELECTED?
We will contact you via email the first week of September for those selected. If you are not selected because of the volume of submissions we will not be able to notify you of your rejection. We are working to resolve this notification process but please be understanding we are a very small staff. Please make sure that the email address and telephone you provide will be operational at that time of festival selection which is in September. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.

I can't say enough good things about this festival. It was wonderfully organized, thoughtful, great networking events. Networking even led to an ongoing discussion about distribution for our film. Definitely worth the money. Winning something means something here.

Even though I ended not being able to attend the festival due to illness, my two partners attended and had a wonderful experience. Also, one of the festival organizers was kind enough to call me to wish me better health and they sent along a wonderful gift bag.
