XII HUMANS FEST 2021 - ENGLISH RULES & REGULATIONS (Español a continuación)
Preamble:
The new edition of the Film and Human Rights Festival of Valencia, Humans Fest, will be held from 8th to 21st February 2021.
GENERAL RULES:
1. Topics:
a) Only films with a theme related to the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights may participate.
b) In the Official International Selection of Short Films, only productions whose topic deal with children, youth, and Human Rights may participate.
c) For the selections HumansVLC, One Minute One Right, Web series, and Gamers, the films have to be related to human rights in a general way.
2. All productions must be finished after 1st January 2019.
3. Works must be subtitled into English, Spanish, or Catalan (included in .srt format).

Valencian Short Films, "Humans VLC"
Valencian mini-shorts "Un minuto, Un derecho” (One minute, One right)
Humans Gamers I International Contest of Serious Video Games and Virtual Reality.
5. Registration deadline: October 31, 2020. Deadline for Selection 1 Minute 1 Right: January 15, 2021. Deadline for Serious Videogames and Virtual Reality Selection: March 8, 2021
6. Works in progress are accepted.
7. Submissions will be possible through FilmFreeway.
8. International Feature Films Competition Selection:
a) Feature films must have a minimum duration of 70 minutes.
b) The film must not have been released in Valencia.
c) Subtitles in Spanish, Valencian or English (srt format required)
d) All selected films will receive a screening fee.
e) An independent jury will decide the First Prize (honorific mention).
f) EDAV, the Valencian scriptwriters' association, will decide the prize for the best script, without financial endowment.
g) The registration fee is 15€.
9. International Short Films Competition Selection:
a) Short films must have a maximum duration of 30 minutes, and deal with the topic of children, youth, and human rights.
b) Subtitles in Spanish, Valencian or English (srt format required)
c) An independent jury will decide the First Prize valued at 1,000 €.
d) The registration fee is 5€.
e) Short films must not have been released in Valencia.
10. Humans VLC - Valencian Short Films Selection:
a) Short films must have been produced in the Valencian Community on 30% at least.
b) Short films must have a maximum duration of 30 minutes.
c) An independent jury will decide the First Prize valued at 750 €.
d) The screenwriters association EDAV will determine the Best Screenplay Award in the Humans VLC section, which will consist of one year of free registration as a member.
e) Registration Fee: 3€. If productions meet the requirements, Valencian producers may simultaneously register their works both in the international Selection and in the Valencian short film Selection. In the case of selection, the film will only be screened in one of the selections. If the authors request it and comply with the rules of registration they can request free registration at aurora.garcia@humansfest.com.
11. Valencian mini-shorts "Un minuto, Un derecho” (One minute, One right) selection:
a) Short films made in educational centers (official or not) located in the Valencian Community may participate. The topic must be related to human rights issues.
b) The maximum duration will be 1 minute and 20 seconds, including film credits.
c) The prize will be chosen by the audience through an online vote and will be given in the closing ceremony of the festival. Award: 400 €.
d) No registration fee. You can also send your short film directly to humans@humansfest.com. Stating title and author.
e) Registration deadline: January 15th, 2021
f) The mini-shorts will be screened online via our Youtube channel and at the Cinestudio d'Or film theater in Valencia city.
12. WEB SERIES International competition selection:
a) Minimum 3 episodes with a maximum length of 20 minutes each. If the series exceeds this number of episodes, the festival organization may choose to screen the episodes they consider.
b) Subtitles in Spanish, Valencian or English (srt format required)
c) The prize will be awarded by a jury and presented at the closing ceremony of the festival.
d) Registration Fee: 5 €
e) Award: 500 €
13.Humans Gamers Selection I International Contest of Serious Video Games and Virtual Reality:
a) Accepted techniques: 2D and 3D animation, applications, interactive video, virtual reality, video 360, augmented reality.
b) Format: Video. (Cinematic/Cutscene).
c) Topic: Social awareness of human rights.
d) Registration fee: 5 €
e) Participants: Any nationality, minimum age 18 years old.
f) Open registration period from August 24th to March 8th
g) Award: Honorable Mention
h) Award ceremony and screenings in April's on-site event.
14. Jury / Selection Committee:
a) The Humans Fest organization will decide the selection committees and the juries for each one of the selections.
b) In the case of the selection ‘Un minuto, un derecho’, the verdict shall be decided by popular vote.
c) The decisions of both the Selection Committee and the Juries shall be irrevocable.
15. Selected works:
a) The individual or legal entity that registrates the film declares that they have all the intellectual property rights of the work exhibited at the festival and the audiovisual material included in it (soundtrack, images of others, etc.). The festival will not be responsible if this rule is not respected.
b) Selected films may not be withdrawn by their producers.
c) Producers/distributors must send a copy of the film via online or in DCP, BluRay, or High Resolution with English, Spanish or Catalan subtitles in srt format to the festival headquarters. They must include a dossier of the work, three images of the film, and a bio filmography of the director.

d) The festival is not responsible for any shipping costs of the films.
16. Exhibition rights:
a) The festival will not be responsible for possible claims that arise from a breach of copyright by the films.
b) The festival may take a sample of the selected works to be used in any media with the purpose of promoting them within the framework of Humans Fest (printed program, press, Internet, social networks, trailer, etc.)
17. Acceptance of the rules:
Participation in the Festival means the acceptance of these rules.

BASES ESPAÑOL - XII HUMANS FEST 2020
Preámbulo
La nueva edición del Festival de Cine y Derechos Humanos de València, Humans Fest, se celebrará del 9 al 21 de febrero de 2021.
NORMAS GENERALES:
1. Temática:
a) Solo podrán participar películas cuya temática esté relacionada con la Declaración Universal de los Derechos Humanos de 1948.
b) En la Sección Oficial de Cortometrajes solo podrán participar cortometrajes cuya temática gire en torno a infancia, juventud y derechos humanos.
c) Para las secciones HumansVLC, Un Minuto Un Derecho, Webseries y Gamers, las obras tendrán que estar relacionadas con los derechos humanos de forma general.
2. Fecha de producción: Todas las producciones deberán ser posteriores al 1 de enero de 2019.
3. Idiomas: Las obras deberán estar subtituladas en inglés, castellano o catalán (con archivo de subtítulos .srt aparte).
4. Secciones: Se abre la convocatoria a las siguientes secciones:
– Oficial Competitiva Largometrajes.
– Oficial Competitiva de Cortometrajes.
– Oficial de Cortometrajes Valencianos, Humans VLC
– Oficial Minicortometrajes Valencianos "Un Minuto, Un Derecho"
- Oficial Competitiva de Webseries.
- I Certamen Internacional de Videojuegos serios y Realidad Virtual, Humans Gamers.
5. Fecha límite de inscripción: 31 de octubre de 2020. Fecha límite sección 1 Minuto 1 Derecho: 15 de enero de 2021. Fecha límite Sección Videojuegos: 8 de marzo de 2021.
6. Se aceptan works in progress.
7. Las plataformas de envío de obras serán FilmFreeway.
8. Sección oficial competitiva internacional de largometrajes:
a) La duración mínima de los largometrajes será de 70 minutos.
b) La película deberá ser inédita en la ciudad de Valencia.
c) Subtítulos en castellano, valenciano o inglés (formato srt)
d) Se pagará un importe por derechos de proyección por cada largometraje seleccionado.
e) Un jurado independiente determinará el Primer Premio de carácter honorífico.
f) La asociación de guionistas EDAV determinará el Premio al Mejor Guión, sin dotación económica.
g) El coste de inscripción será de 15€.
9. Sección oficial competitiva nacional e internacional de cortometrajes:
a) La duración máxima de los cortometrajes será de 30 minutos y tratarán temas sobre infancia y juventud relacionados con derechos humanos y activismo.
b) Subtítulos en castellano, valenciano o inglés (formato srt)
c) Un jurado independiente determinará el Primer Premio valorado en 1000€.
d) El coste de inscripción será de 5€.
e) El corto deberá ser inédito en la ciudad de Valencia.
10. Sección oficial competitiva de cortometrajes valencianos:
a) Solo podrán participar cortometrajes producidos en la Comunitat Valenciana al menos en un 30%.
b) La duración máxima de los cortometrajes será de 30 minutos.
c) Un jurado independiente determinará el Primer Premio valorado en 750€.
d) La asociación de guionistas EDAV determinará el Premio al Mejor Guión de la sección Humans VLC, que consistirá en un año de inscripción gratuita como socio.
e) El coste de inscripción será de 3 €. Si así lo desean y si cumplen los requisitos, las productoras podrán inscribir simultáneamente sus obras en la sección internacional y en la de cortometrajes valencianos pero, en caso de ser seleccionado, solo se proyectará en una de las secciones. Si los/as autores/as lo solicitan y cumplen la normativa de inscripción podrán solicitar la inscripción gratuita a aurora.garcia@humansfest.com.
11. Sección Minicortometrajes Valencianos “Un minuto, Un derecho”:
a) Podrán participar cortos realizados en centros educativos de la Comunitat Valenciana realizados por estudiantes hasta 18 años.
b) La duración máxima será de 1 minuto 30 segundos, créditos incluidos.
c) El premio será otorgado por el público en una votación online y se entregará en la ceremonia de clausura del festival, el 20 de febrero de 2021.
d) El coste de inscripción será de 3 €. Si los/as autores/as lo solicitan y cumplen la normativa de inscripción podrán solicitar la inscripción gratuita a aurora.garcia@humansfest.com.
e) Fecha límite de inscripción: 15 de enero de 2021
f) Durante las fechas del festival, los cortos se podrán ver online en el canal de YouTube del festival y presencialmente en los cines Cinestudio d’Or de la ciudad de València.
g) El premio será de 400€ para la obra ganadora.
12. Sección oficial competitiva nacional e internacional de webseries:
a) Mínimo 3 episodios con un máximo de duración de 20 minutos cada uno. Si la serie supera ese número de episodios, la organización del festival podrá proyectar los capítulos que considere.
b) Subtítulos en castellano, valenciano o inglés (formato .srt)
c) El premio será otorgado por un jurado y entregado en la ceremonia de clausura del festival.
d) El coste de inscripción será de 5 €
e) Premio: 500 €
13. Sección Humans Gamers I Certamen internacional de Videojuegos Serios y Realidad Virtual:
a) Técnicas aceptadas: Animación 2D y 3D, aplicaciones, video interactivo, realidad virtual, video 360, realidad aumentada.
b) Formato: Vídeo. (Cinemáticas).
c) Temática: Concienciación social acerca de los derechos humanos.
d) Coste de inscripción: 5€
e) Participantes: Cualquier nacionalidad, edad mínima 18 años.
f) Plazo abierto de inscripción del 24 de agosto hasta 8 de marzo
g) Premio: Mención Honorífica.
h) Entrega de premio y proyecciones en evento presencial en abril.
14. Jurado / Comité de selección:
La organización del Humans Fest determinará los comités de selección de cada una de las secciones y los jurados de las mismas.
En el caso de la sección Un minuto, Un Derecho, el veredicto se otorgará por votación en internet según se indique por la organización del festival.
Las decisiones, tanto del Comité de Selección como de los Jurados, serán inapelables.
15. Obras admitidas:
La persona física o jurídica que realice la inscripción declara que posee todos los derechos de propiedad intelectual de la obra exhibida en el festival y del material audiovisual incluido en ella (banda sonora, imágenes ajenas. etc). El festival no se hará responsable si esta norma es incumplida.
Las películas escogidas no podrán ser retiradas por sus productores.
Los productores/ distribuidores deberán enviar via online o una copia en DCP, BluRay o Alta Resolución a la sede del festival junto con un dossier de la obra, tres imágenes de la película y una biofilmografía del director con foto. Enviar subtítulos en inglés, castellano o catalán en un archivo aparte en formato .srt.

d) El festival no se hará cargo de los costes de envío de las películas.
16. Derechos de Exhibición:
a) El festival no se hará responsable de posibles reclamaciones que surjan por incumplimiento de los derechos de autor por parte de la obra.
b) El festival podrá tomar una muestra de las obras seleccionadas para utilizar en cualquier medio con la finalidad de su promoción en el marco de Humans Fest (programa impreso, prensa, Internet, redes sociales, tráiler, etc.)
17. Aceptación de las bases:
La participación en el Festival supone la aceptación de estas bases.
