Frame by Frame is a film festival that seeks to spotlight student filmmakers working with animation, editing and special effects to enhance their story telling. Any currently-enrolled high school student (grades 9-12 in U.S., years 10-13 in U.K., grade 10-12 in Canada, year 9-12 in Australia or equivalent in other countries) in public, private, or homeschool may submit films in the “Youth” categories. Older students should submit in the “University” categories.
Applicants may submit one film per category.
Film Eligibility
Your film must have been completed within the last two years, be no shorter than 60 seconds, and no longer than 8 minutes including credits. The work must be original. Adaptations, spoofs, and satires will be admitted, however blatant plagiarism will not qualify for the festival.
Please remember that this is a competition that includes high school filmmakers. Obscene, gratuitous or inappropriate material will be automatically eliminated from the competition.
Any film that includes main dialogue that is not English must be submitted with English subtitles.
Judging
A panel of judges made up of educators in film as well as industry professionals will be evaluating submissions to Frame by Frame. Films will be evaluated on how effectively digital animation, special effects and editing advance the storytelling of the film.
