The event's commitment to stimulating local documentary production is evident through its diverse range of programs, including mini-DOCs, 148-DOCs, and the podcast-jacht initiative, which blends highlights of the Limburg region with documentaries.

Finally, the DOCvillage residency program gives an exceptional opportunity for makers from all over Europe to nurture their documentary projects and bring their cinematic visions to life.

Rules & Terms

1. For films produced in 2025 & 2026.
2. Only the films or producer/director from the following countries are eligible to submit: Netherlands and Belgium.
2. The maximum running time for shorts is 20 minutes (including credits).
3. Films only in documentary or hybrid genre can be submitted.
4. Submissions only via FilmFreeway.com, with online screeners (downloadable preferred). Additional materials such as credits, synopsis, stills, director’s biography and headshot are obligatory.

Please note that all parts of the festival, including the shortDOCs, are in Dutch.
