Animalfama - a part of Cinalfama

The event will happen in Alfama as a part of the Lisbon indie reference Cinalfama Film Festival. Our selected films will be eligible and competing
in Cinalfama Film Festival in July 2026.

The Lisbon Animation Film Festival is an international animation film showcase held every July in Lisbon.

It is curated by Marta Andrade
Born in Porto, in 1991. Studied at Lisbon’s Film School (ESTC), specializing in directing, and finished her degree in Prague at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts (FAMU). Afterward, she went to Paris for a year of animation training at the Atelier de Sèvres. This led her to proceed and conclude her studies in London with animation masters at the Royal College of Art. “Come to Me”, her first-year film, was selected for festivals worldwide. Her graduation film, “The Village Game”, was pre-selected for a BAFTA nomination in the student films category.
In 2017 she worked for clients such as BBC, Google, and CNN as a concept artist and animator based in London.
Since June 2018 she has been living in Portugal and working permanently at Bando à Parte studios in Oporto and intermittently with Videolotion studios in Lisbon. She has been a visiting lecturer at Atelier de Sèvres to teach a “Workshop on Sand and Painting Animation”. Currently, she’s working in animation as an animator, colorist, illustrator, teacher and art director.

I was not able to attend the festival in person, but judging by the communication, it is a good festival and organization. I am proud to have won the award for the film Psychonauts.

We are truly delighted that Ljudski – Kandidat was nominated and screened at the Museu do Fado as part of Animalfama – Lisbon Animation Film Night, within the Cinalfama – Lisbon International Film Festival.

Though we couldn’t attend in person, it means a great deal to know that a voice of resistance to authoritarianism from Serbia could be seen and heard in Lisbon.

Many thanks to Marta Andrade for the thoughtful curation.
