Based in The Midlands, UK, EQAD Film Festival welcomes films and film makers celebrating and representing Equality and Diversity.
With COVID changing the face of how everyone works we have had to diversify ourselves, working in new and innovative ways to reach people with our own disability lead theatre and film.
We have adapted to change, as many are and have already, by using a combination of social media, recorded drama and song and streamed live theatre pieces.
We are embracing this new way of working as a sign of positive things to come and have already begun reaching more people than ever before - both audience and participants.
We are setting up EQAD to address the lack of representation of diversity and equality and to reward and to create a network whereby films can be shared on an accessible platform with the hope of linking into the bigger festivals and awards organisations and getting all aspects of diverse film making noticed and credited.
Due to covid restrictions we will be holding an awards event online via streaming media on 15th March 2021. The winners will be chosen by a panel of judges to be announced and streamed simultaneously on social media etc
The overall winner will be chosen by public vote.
Normally there is a charge to submit films to festivals. We would like to split the profit from monetization between the winners.
A range of awards TBA to be judged by a panel and public vote for overall winner
The award ceremony will now take place online as a streaming event
