From the ethereal to the atrocious, the Buskopolis Festival of Cinematic Oddities explores the square pegs of movie history as well as the proud misfits of present-day filmdom who defy genre.

The hope of the festival is to unearth oddities from all corners of the filmmaking world - without concern for vintage, budget or notoriety. We accept any genre (narrative, documentary, animation, experimental) - with an emphasis on oddball, underground, art, weird, handmade or otherwise unclassifiable bits of flotsam.

Submissions are limited to a maximum running time of 20 minutes.

Films from any and all eras are strongly desired.

All accepted filmmakers are encouraged to attend the festival if possible. Q&A will be held after each screening.

The festival takes place at the historic Clifton Theater in downtown Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, USA, within walking distance of restaurants, the shopping district, and a short drive to Raystown Lake, the largest man-made lake in the state.

Please check our website for updates on scheduled films and to be placed on our mailing list.

Entries must be submitted via FilmFreeway's online screener option. Foreign language work must be dubbed or subtitled in English. Entry fees are non-refundable. We have no film premiere requirements or date of completion requirements.

All entries will be viewed by the selection committee. All entry fees are non-refundable. Selected films will be announced on or around August 14, 2019. All entrants will be notified by email. The festival does not pay rental fees for submitted work.
Exhibition format: DIGITAL FILE only.

I always enjoy Tim's festival. We were so proud and honored to have Buskopolis host the Pennslyvania premiere of the short film version of our documentary THE OLD STRIPPER! A big thank you!

  • While I was sadly unable to attend the festival, Tim made the experience exceptional in his communications. The line up of films looked fantastic and it was an honor to have my film included. An overall great experience and a unique festival to keep an eye on.

My film screened during the first Buskopolis Festival of Cinematic Oddities and I couldn't be more honored. We were notified by the notification date and kept informed regularly about when our film would screen and what events would be run. Fantastic festival and definitely worth the submission!
