Our Film Festival at SqueeCon was so successful that we're taking it on the road!

We are now accepting film submissions for our festival at RevelCon in Houston in March 2019.

We are seeking film submissions to present at RevelCon, the only fan-run, fan-fun, relax-a-con in the Southwest. If you are interested in fanficton, fannish song vids, panels about your favorite media madness, art, food, friends, fun and frolic, have we got a FANtastic weekend planned for you. This is RevelCon's 30th anniversary so it will be an extra special celebration of fandom, friendship and community.

We are looking for films from female identifying and non-binary creators that explore topics through the female gaze. We are especially interested in projects that explore fandom, geek-nerd culture, feminism, pop culture, comics, cosplay, diversity, representation and alternative narratives.

Submissions do not have to be premieres and can have screened publicly or be available online.

Genres include documentary, horror, sci-fi, fan films, animation, pop culture, meta, webisodes, vidding and more -if you have a topic you're not sure we'd accept -just ask! Our goal is to support women, female identifying and non-binary creators in film and to create an opportunity for their videos and films to be seen.

The Squee Project is a collective of fangrrl creators. We attempt to cover the full fandom experience including cosplay, conventions, comic books, movies, podcasts, fanfic, episodics, and creating spaces for women, girls, femmes and female identifying fangrrls to collaborate and network in geek-nerd culture.

I was sadly unable to attend the festival but I was very impressed with the quick communication. I was so excited to be apart of such a unique festival and I hope to participate in the future.

  • Although I was unable to attend (so couldn't rate Hospitality), I was very impressed with the communication and organization of the festival directors. It's a specific niche event, but if your films fit that niche then definitely consider this festival; they care about the filmmakers even beyond the actual festival dates.

SqueeCon did an excellent job of promoting the films of the film makers. They made a trailer video, listed our film and photos of the film with tags or various social media, and were very excited about our film. They even promoted our film with other festivals. When SqueeCon commits to your film they commit all the way.

Really very pleased to have been a part of the festival, its a great bang for the buck!

My experience as a featured creator was very pleasant. The organizator was very nice and, dare I say, organized. Really, only good things to say about SqueeCon. Hopefully, this event will grow and gain more popularity in the next few years.

Thank you so much. We love your work and hope to show more of it in our future festivals.

  • This is a nice non-competitive festival (no award is given) that showcases female identifying talent in a healthy way and from different art fields - so not just filmmaking.
I couldn’t attend the event but it looked and sounded like a lot of fun.

My experience with this festival has been generally really good, communication was great also. I am definitely back with more films next year!
