Toonz Animation India Pvt Ltd's annual event ‘Animation Masters Summit 2018’ to be held this year on May 5th and 6th in the Travancore Hall, Technopark, Trivandrum.

Launched in 1999 as ‘Week with the Masters’, the sublime purpose of this event is to bring under one roof the finest masters of the fraternity to celebrate the wondrous art of animation, to share their invaluable treasure of knowledge and to provide an opportunity for the young and aspiring animation enthusiasts to interact with their role models. Over the years such legendary veterans like Rob Coleman, Derek Lamb, Bill Plympton, Maurice Noble, Will Winton, Jean-Marie Olivier, Ajit Rao, Sabu Cyril and several others have graced the event with their awe-inspiring speaking sessions.

We are also launching the 3rd edition of Flying Elephant Competition, a unique platform for the veterans and amateurs to showcase their timeless talent in film-making.

Animation Master Summit is a 2 Day event scheduled for May 4th and 5th and concludes with an award ceremony announcing the winners and distributing the trophies and certificates.

Your submissions will be viewed and evaluated by the top-class veterans of the industry. Be sure to be inspired and look forward to a standing ovation! This platform will announce your arrival to the animation world. We believe in storytelling and the competition is not specifically restricted to the medium of animation. It could be Live-Action too! Rules & Terms

Film selection is carried out by the Festival Director, ANIMATION MASTERS SUMMIT – 2018, in collaboration with a panel of top class professionals from the industry.

The decision of Toonz and its judges with respect to Film selection is binding and final.

Participation is for all animated & live action films which are produced between June 1, 2014, and 2018 for all nationalities belonging to the region of South-East Asia.

The registration of the works at FLYING ELEPHANT COMPETITION is free of charge and can be done via online registration on the official website

Incomplete entry forms shall not be accepted for Flying Elephant Competition.

Any forms or materials received after the Submission Deadline shall be considered invalid.
Materials will only be accepted in English language or with English subtitles (except for the works that do not involve dialogue).

The works that have already been included in previous editions of the Competition will not be accepted for the current year’s competition.

The materials sent to the Flying Elephant Competition will not be returned at any point in time. All submission materials except the materials submitted by the winning entrants will be archived by the organising committee after the Competition.

The entry shall be in compliance with laws and regulations of India and moral norms. And it shall not contain any defamatory, obscene, pornographic, gory, religion insulting and other unhealthy contents.

Each entrant shall be the author or the legitimate owner/copyright holder/ legal assignee of his/her entry for which he has the copyright and undertakes corresponding legal responsibilities. For works jointly created, the entrant shall ensure that he/she has the legitimate authority of the entry. In the event that this cannot be guaranteed, the entry shall only be included if the participant in the competition provides all owners and he/she must obtain a No-objection letter from the co-owner.

You are fully responsible for the Intellectual property of your work. You represent and warrant to Toonz Animation India that your Work is your original creation and does not violate the rights of any third party including copyrights. Further, you represent that you have full and absolute rights and authority to allow exhibition of your work at Animation Masters Summit if selected. All losses incurred due to the claim for right of the entry by a third party shall be borne by the entrant; and if such claim results in serious influence or losses to the Organizing Committee or the Award, the entrant shall make all compensations; If your film is selected, the entrant must sign a release certifying that he has obtained all rights and clearances prior to exhibiting the film at the festival. wherein he
(i) accept responsibility for obtaining any and all clearances necessary to exhibit his film at the festival
(ii) warrant that he has the rights necessary to exhibit his/her film; and
(iii) indemnify and hold harmless the festival organising company, its parent company, its affiliates, and subsidiaries and any of their respective directors, officers, employees, and representatives against any claim arising out of the exhibition of your film at the Flying Elephant Competition.

Organising Committee is entitled to exhibit and demonstrate the works (in whole or in part) at any media or public event for non-commercial purposes

The Organizing Committee reserves the final right to interpret.
For each film, the applicant is required to fill out a separate entry form and submit a preview screener of the film.
The submitted works must be in the final edited version. Works in progress will not be considered.
This Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of India and the courts of Kerala shall have exclusive jurisdiction with respect to any disputes.
Films with dialogue or narration in languages other than English must have English subtitles
The preview screener has to be submitted online: Vimeo or YouTube (preferred) or a VOB or MPEG file via WeTransfer, Dropbox or Google Drive.
Preview screener must be available for download until May 10th, 2018.

The Winners of this contest hereby grant to Toonz Animation India Pvt Ltd, the worldwide royalty-free license for perpetuity to use, at its sole discretion, their images and likeness and the title of their work for promotional and other related purposes.

Employees, officers, directors, agents and representatives of Producer, coordination, promotion, marketing, administration of Toonz Media Group are not eligible to enter or win the Contest.
