A Great Cultural Asset for the Dominican and Latin Community in New York.

This festival is a testament to the vibrant creativity and resilience of the Dominican and broader Latin community. Run by a team of passionate and dedicated individuals, it offers not only an exceptional selection of films but also a welcoming atmosphere that fosters connection and cultural pride.

One of the festival's greatest strengths is its audience. Their enthusiasm, warmth, and support create an unparalleled energy in every screening and event. From heartfelt applause to meaningful post-screening discussions, their presence elevates the festival, making it an unforgettable experience for filmmakers and attendees alike.

Beyond the films, the festival excels as a platform for storytelling that resonates deeply with its audience, spotlighting voices often underrepresented in mainstream cinema. Its role in celebrating and preserving Latin identity in New York cannot be overstated.

A wonderful and very well organized Festival.
Our documentary El fotógrafo de La 40 was the winner in the Documentary category and the Quad cinema where it was presented to the public is a very beautiful cinema. We can only say good things about DFFNY.
