Participation in the Biophilic Film festival: implies full acceptance of the following Terms and Conditions:
Submission Guidelines:
There is no entry fee for submission.
Entries into the 2021 Biophilic Film festival are invited from media producers from around Africa. Media submitted may be of any length, may originate in any digital media format and be fictional or non-fictional.
Entries must have been completed by 28th February 2021. Films should be fully completed and ready for presentation with no visible time codes, placeholder graphics, etc.
Submissions in all languages are welcomed. Programs in a language other than English must be subtitled in English for presentation to the judges and participation in the showcase.
Eligible entries will complete an online submission form via Biophilic Conversation.
All entrants must provide access to an online streaming link to the full film for online viewing as part of the 2021 the Earth Optimism Nairobi hosted by Earth Optimism. When a streaming link is not available, a video file may be submitted by contacting Email:inquiries-EO@tropical-biology.org
Rights & Clearances:
The 2021 BIOPHILIC FILM FESTIVAL requires all applicants to secure music, imaging, IP and talent rights to their films for showcase exhibition & online streaming. It is the sole responsibility of the entity submitting the project to secure permission from the copyright holders of all materials included in the program. Earth Optimism-Biophilic Film Festival will not be held legally responsible for any inclusion of uncleared copyrighted materials in entries.
Earth Optimism/Biophilic Conversation reserves the right to use portions of the media submitted to Biophilic Conversation for promotional purposes. Earth Optimism reserves the right to share and display streaming links submitted at showcase virtual events, and for free online streaming for educational purposes hosted by Earth Optimism or Biophilic Conversation on the a password protected Vimeo account. No fees are paid for media selected to screen, be displayed or streamed in the events described above.
Terms & Conditions:
By submitting an entry into the 2021 EARTH OPTIMISM BIOPHILIC FILM FESTIVAL, entrants agree that they have read and agree to abide by the Biophilic Film Festival submission rules, that all information contained in application is true and correct, and that they are authorized to submit the film to the showcase for inclusion in free, online streaming presentation as part of the showcase. The 2021 EARTH OPTIMISM BIOPHILIC FILM SHOWCASE is hereby granted the right to utilize the still image, entry form information from and an excerpt no longer than 2 minutes from any film submitted for exhibition during the Earth Optimism Nairobi virtual event, for promotional purposes, and on the Biophilic Conversation and EARTH OPTIMISM BIOPHILIC FILM FESTIVAL SHOWCASE websites/webpages. Submissions selected for exhibitions will be showcased on EARTH OPTIMISM BIOPHILIC FILM FESTIVAL SHOWCASE online streaming site hosted by EARTH OPTIMISM. The undersigned shall indemnify and hold harmless the BIOPHILIC CONVERSATION and EARTH OPTIMISM BIOPHILIC FILM FESTIVAL SHOWCASE from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney’s fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and online streaming.
By accepting these terms you agree to the following: I have read the EARTH OPTIMISM BIOPHILIC FILM FESTIVAL rules and agree to abide by them. To the best of my knowledge, all information contained herein is true.
Certification of Entrant
The media competition submitter certifies that the media being entered into competition is/are not subject to any litigation, nor is any litigation threatened. Also, he/she must understand that participation in the EARTH OPTIMISM BIOPHILIC FILM FESTIVAL implies full acceptance of the above terms and conditions.
