Japan Connects Hollywood is a film festival created to strengthen the two-way bridge between the Japanese and American entertainment industries through screenings of feature films, documentaries, short films, business panels and most importantly face-to-face networking.

UPDATE:
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Japan Connects Hollywood is moving to an all virtual setting for its 2020 edition. While we hoped to have a physical event this year, your safety, and that of our volunteers, comes first. We will likely keep the same dates, October 30th to November 1st, for the virtual showing. In addition, all winners will be invited to our 2021 festival, which we plan to hold live.

Japan Connects Hollywood accepts films and media works created by and/or about Japanese individuals and communities around the world. If the film is created by a non-Japanese filmmaker, the films need to depict Japan and/or its culture. Short film submissions are to run no longer than 25 minutes. Feature film submissions are to run no longer than 120 minutes. English subtitles are required. We accept fiction, documentary, music videos, and animated films. Submission fees are non-refundable.
