Would you like to play a key role in creating future cinema experiences and in taking film to the next level? FilmKit, Europe's first Film Innovation Festival invites UK and International producers and filmmakers to submit their films to its 2nd edition that will take place in September 2016. FilmKit focuses on innovative cinematic experiences and we specialise in discovery of virtual reality and drone short films and documentaries as well as films captured with self-invented equipment.
FilmKit collaborates with innovative start-ups, festivals, well-known video artists and universities around the UK including De Montfort University, Cinephone International Smartphone Festival, FilmDoo, Videona and Starry ID. The winning films will be shown on international video discovery platform FilmDoo.
The event will be a mixed format festival, which will have screenings happening alongside opportunities to gain some hands-on experience of operating a drone, trying VR gear and editing a 360 video. Our vision is to empower filmmakers to think progressively and to be experimental and to inspire filmmakers to push the boundaries of tranditional cinema. Anyone, who comes to the festival will learn technology skills that will equip them for working in a constantly developing industry.
There will be plenty of exposure for your work across the film innovation community. The festival will be live streamed and Amongst others, press and social media coverage will be provided through collaboration partners such as the BBC, Videona and De Montfort University.
