Horror Society (horrorsociety.com) and the newly re-opened landmark Davis Theater want to send chills down your spine this spring showcasing the best the genre has to offer.

The first ever WINDY CITY HORRORAMA is a film festival celebrating the DIY spirit of independent genre films, from the hard working hands that make them to the enthusiastic audiences that come out in droves to see them. Chicago has such a robust film and genre fan community, those involved with this event can’t wait to be a part of its rich tradition while presenting some kickass horror!

The festival will take place from Friday, April 27 to Sunday, April 29, day and night at the Davis Theater, a recently refurbished theater and bar in Chicago’s historic Lincoln Square neighborhood. Fest co-founder and Horror Society programmer Matt Storc is teaming up with Chicago International Film Festival’s After Dark programmer Alex Vazquez to put together a weekend of skin-crawling movies, filmmaker interaction, drinking, and celebrations of all things horror.

HorrorSociety.com has always been your voice for independent horror. So let your voice be heard! If you have a horror, sci-fi, fantasy, or otherwise genre-based short or feature film, WINDY CITY HORRORAMA is now accepting your entries.

This film festival is not a competition festival, rather a showcase of the indie film world's spookiest horrors. However, audiences will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite films throughout the festival. One film will win the audience award for the fest overall. Trophy to be determined.

Thank you for your interest in submitting your film to Windy City Horrorama! Horrorama is looking for genre films ONLY (horror, fantasy, sci-fi, and dark thrillers).

Films must have been completed between 2015 and 2017 for consideration. Works in progress are accepted. There is no length requirement. Films 59 minutes and shorter are considered shorts, and films 60 minutes are longer are considered feature films.

Please make sure if the film you are submitting isn't in English, that there are English subtitles for the film. There are no premiere requirements for this festival. No films that have already been distributed in the US prior to the event date will be accepted. All submissions must be received by February 19, 2018.

You can submit a DVD, Blu-Ray, or online screener through FilmFreeway. If your film is an official selection of Windy City Horrorama, the submitter is responsible for providing either a DCP or Blu-Ray for screening purposes. Windy City Horrorama reserves the right to use stills or clips of accepted films for promotional purposes.

We keep our entry fees low so the independent filmmaker can submit. So, unfortunately, we cannot give out any fee waivers.

Payment and the FilmFreeway entry form are due at the time of submission. Please clearly label all submitted disc materials with your name, the film title, and your email address. Entry fees are non-refundable, and screeners will not be returned. Windy City Horrorama will retain a copy of the film, along with all promotional materials, for its archives.

Make sure that all necessary consents, licensing, and approvals have been obtained for your film. Your submission is in no way a guarantee of acceptance into Windy City Horrorama.

Submitters shall indemnify and hold harmless Windy City Horrorama from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.

Windy City Horrorama does not pay screening fees for submitted films.
