One days notice of acceptance, no opportunity to promote or tie in community orgs, not sure what the purpose of the festival is? Perhaps locals contributed fees to watch?

    Response from festival:

    Hi Mary!
We are sorry you were unable to attend or tie in other local organizations. Based on your feedback (and feedback from others), this year we have adjusted both our notification date as well as the festival date to give film makers a better chance to attend or notify others to attend. The Ketchikan Film Festival is really just about celebrating the art of film making in Alaska, and so there is no fee for submission or for entry into the film festival. This event is sponsored by the City of Ketchikan and KPU Telecommunications to provide Ketchikan residents of all ages an opportunity to get out and enjoy creative videography from across the state.

Unfortunately, I was not able to make it to the event. However, they communicated very well. I had chances to get in touch with other filmmakers. My family had the chance to go and they said it was a packed show and everyone was having a good time. The reason why I didn’t get to go was because I was notified four days before the event happened, if I had a two week notice, I would have came down.
