The Indian Film Festival of Cincinnati is the only Indian/ South Asian Film Festival of its kind in Cincinnati and Ohio. We screen premieres of feature, and short films made in and about the Indian/South Asian subcontinent, or it's people or made by Indians. Designed to engage diversity through film, the festival selects films that speak to an American audience through topics and issues that that embrace the common human values across our cultures. SPECIAL THIS YEAR, n an effort to bring the cultural film makers together, WE WILL DEDICATE ONE DAY TO LOCAL OHIO FILM MAKERS, Local Ohio film makers can choose any genre as long as it speaks to diversity and our common human values, the Asian element is not a requirement for Ohio film makers. The festival is organized and hosted by the India Cincinnati Sister city in collaboration with the Art Museum.of Cincinnati. Please make sure your film speaks to a topic that cuts across cultures.
Films that have not been/will not be publicly screened or premiered in Ohio prior to IFFCincy 2020, and meet the following criteria, are considered.
Indian Diaspora Films:Films that feature the work of filmmakers, actors, writers, directors of Indian heritage.
Indian & South Asian inspired Films:Films made by Non-Indians that feature significant Indian content, inspiration, subject matter.
Indian Filmmakers: Films produced and directed in India. Filmmakers working in all Indian regional languages, and those working on animation and children's films are encouraged to apply.

The festival encourages films on Pride (LGBTQ), Trafficking, Immigration and women’s issues.
Awards for Best film , Best Director, Best actor, Best Cinematographer for both short and feature films . Awardees will be informed and certificates and trophies awarded. We hope to award cash prizes in a few years as we grow. No cash prizes.
Local Ohio Film Makers. This is a different category for awards. Award for Best film, Best director ( cash prize )
Come to the festival and stay free! We have some funds for local travel and for panels. We will provide you free accommodation and provide other festival hospitality as our VIP guest. If you are located in the US, we will pay up to $200 in travel funds for you.
At the Indian Film Festival of Cincinnati, we screen premieres of features, and short films. made in and about the Indian subcontinent or it's people or made by Indians/Asians. Entries can be in English or any language subtitled in bold in English. As a South Asian Film festival, our requirement is that your film is either made or directed by South Asians OR your film features South Asians in the cast OR your film is made about or in India. At this time the only documentaries we are accepting are those made on the topic of human trafficking.
The festival is designed to engage diversity through film. We want your film to speak to an American audience through topics and issues that that embrace our common humanity across our cultures. Our audiences, love comedies, films with substance, films with a message that is relevant to both cultures. Films that cover issues of diversity. We do not favor documentaries .
You may submit films already premiered this year as long as they have not been showed in Ohio, USA. We are the only Indian Film festival in Ohio.
ENTRY SUBMISSION RULES.
Together with your submission to FilmFreeway, All films must be submitted via a password protected streaming link to the email provided. Our preference is Vimeo links; however, we can accept links to other streaming sites including your own site, an unlisted private YouTube, etc. as long as the link is not public. If you are unable to make a streaming link of your film, please email us at Indianfilmfestivalofcincinnati@gmail.com. or send link to Indianfilmfestivalofcincinnati@gmail.com the same day that you submit your work for consideration.

All film submissions must be uploaded or postmarked before DEADLINES ie. before January 15 to qualify for 20$ fees and the early bird offer. Jan 16 to Feb 15 the regular fees will be $30. February 16-March 15 you are expected to pay $50 or the entry will be disqualified and required to submit with the proper submission fees. Waivers are granted via invitation ONLY. You will receive notification from us by March 31.
SCREENING & SHIPPING
If your Feature film is selected for screening at our festival, you must submit films on Blu-rays for festival presentation to the address provided. Films must reach at least 2 weeks before screening takes place.
Short films will be submitted digitally via We transfer or google. Films must be the original copy in high resolution and down loadable.
Subtitles for both short and feature films must be bold and visible, LARGE enough to view and in the appropriate color. Please increase the size of subtitles
If selected, we require Feature Films to be sent to our address. Please package well. The Indian Film Festival of Cincinnati will not assume liability for any damage to entries due to poor shipping and handling. You will be notified if the Blue Ray arrives damaged or fails to play. We will pay shipping costs one way
ONCE SELECTED ALL OF THE FOLLOWING MUST ACCOMPANY YOUR ENTRY:
Entry fee if any (must be paid online).
-Short Films a 50 word or less Synopsis (may be used for Festival Program and website)
-Feature Length Films: 100 Word Synopsis (may be used for Festival Program and website). You must be able to do this.
- Director's Bio 60 words
-Director's photo in Hi resol Jpeg 1 mb or more
-Accepted entries must submit at least one digital 300dpi still photo from the film and at least one web-ready still at 72dpi and 560×315 pixels.
